Mercato is the southernmost principality and is at the bottom southeast corner of the island. The province is bordered to the north by Umshatar and Dajak, to the west by Waringin and to the east by Tanah Boemboe
The land is lush and heavily cultivated with Rice paddies, rattan groves and sago plantations. The food from these fields is shipped up the rivers and via sea and supplies Dajak, and the northern principalities of Boeloengan,Sherazar and Serawak.
The western side of the principality is quite swampy and prone to flooding in the monsoon season.
This is the seat of power for the King and the court at Banjarmasin is the largest and busiest on the isle.

The main seat of the Family is in the old Kings court in the capital Banjarmasin.
The Fabia family were minor nobles with lands near BatiBati. In 798WK Aulia courted the Kings Daughter and wed her, rumour abounded within the court that he had blackmailed her into agreeing to the wedding. The death of the king shortly afterwards left the court in disarray as the King had not proclaimed Aulia as the new Heir.
The family was in dire straits prior to the marriage with the death of Faustinius's wife during childbirth and the passing of Calarus's wife, the family consisted of just three men.
In 806WK Aulia was assassinated and the house was left with an unborn Heir. In order to end the war Calerusa named her child King and pledged a marriage to the youngest daughter of House Amandio.
