People in Carzala talk about the boomtown of Arn’s Ferry. In the last ten years it has grown from a small town to a large one. Its wealth and social problems have grown exponentially. Arn’s Ferry is the seat of a powerful conglomeration of three merchants’ guilds known as; Apple Traders’ Guild, The Core Guilds, and Moon and Mountain Sweet Beef. Before the war the guilds were responsible solely for the apple trade. Since then however, they have been forced into the trading of all food stuffs, as well as a large range of general leather goods. Products from the Apple Traders’ Guild, such as; bags, leather worked goods, and salted beef can be found as far away as the Duchy of Brandenburg.
The Guilds have somehow managed to employ three times the normal number of workers over the last seven years, and still turn a profit. The three main guilds are involved in; Leather bags, dried and salted beef, leather armour, and clothing. Most of the wealth is returned to the community and its members. Other Guilds in Carzala have been watching them closely as they seem to be doing well financially. For the most part, the standard of living, and work for refugees, has improved.
Arn’s Ferry is the last stop in Carzala before setting out into the large grasslands of the Sweet Riding when travelling to Brastor Holdings. Lord Leto still has 200 men-at-arms stationed in town and on the walls.
