This temple is placed on the top of a three hundred foot terraced hill in central Madi, with thirty ten foot terraces. The wall at the top is fifteen feet high. Visiting foreigners are asked to wait in a single spartan room with a door out, this leads to a series of ten rooms each getting more posh and trap filled. Waiting in the first room is advisable. There appear to be a thousand or so monks in residence who have little to do with people outside the temple, there are no women. At dawn they all congregate in the central plaza and watch the sunrise, afterwards they practice combat, yell at each other and run up and down the hill carrying leaky buckets of water.
