Based in the Duchy of Tac the Tash Adventurers Council (aka TAC) of the 790s was more like a gentleman's club, but altered over time to become a guild of mercenary men-at-arms and mages from all backgrounds often skilled in eastern ways, and many with secret knowledge and magics from the 'Islands of Adventure'.

Some Seagate guild members have speculated that the TAC membership includes greater summoners and they are known to have taken in blacklisted Seagate Guild members on occasion. The Tac Guild has also been known to assist Koth Darkclaw from time to time.

The Tac guild of the 820s is somewhat diminished, with many of the older founders leaving for quiet and opulent retirement. Of late they have acquired a rather notorious reputation, taking on shady assignments and unscrupulous employers.

The Seagate Guild maintains a dubious liasion officer at TAC, the blind and shifty shadow mage Ptolemy. Ptolemy is happy to point out the more dangerous areas of Duchy, and relay other information about Tac or TAC, such as he knows it, for an immodest fee.

Seagate Guild parties have run into TAC parties from time to time as noted in the Seagate Times;

  • Tac guild says no to closer ties - [SGT 10]
  • Tac party blamed for attack on guild - [SGT 13]
  • Tac guild helping Vampire in Erewhon - [SGT 16]
  • Tac party maybe behind missing guild council - [SGT 22]
  • Tac party blamed for attack on SGT - [SGT 50]
