Westport

Westport is a big port in SW Eltrandor and the 5th largest city in the kingdom. It is situated close to the the border with Artzdorf and Flugelheim and is a major product interchange between the two kingdoms. The Duke of Westport Balyn Tretal and his family reside here, mainly in the large castle which dominates the city on its western side but also in various estates around the city.

Westport is home to several military units, the most notable being the Westport Legion VIII (Eltrandors 8th Legion) who are best known as the Serpent Legion after their success in the recent Western kingdom battles. The Legion standard is a large red snake lying across a black shield and wrapped around the cross to the western kingdom church. Humphrey Ambrol is the Marshall of the Legion which comprises some 6000 regular troops and 3-4000 auxilaries in time of need for a full wartime strength of some 10,000 well trained and disciplined troops.

The sizeable port and harbour are the home to a number of naval units and personell. The Admiral of Eltrandor James Klapproth is resident here in the Naval Yard along with a number of other Naval staff. Naval units actually based here are the 15th Escort Squadron which is commanded by High Captain Eric Lendrym and the 3rd Naval Squadron which is commanded by Commander Yogan Strend

The spiritual needs of Westport are met by several churches who have a presence here but the official head of the churches is the Bishop of Westport Balac de Melbard who presides over the Michaeline chapter of the Church here.
