Notes from the Private Journals of Sikhura

For this adventure im off to the plane of Savarea to find out what has happened to a human tribes mana and find their witches. The morning after the guild meeting dawned bright and cheerful so my fine companions and myself set off by ship to the coast near the five sisters where the portal is located. Closing our eyes and jumping through landed us in a really cold tundra plain with ice and snow and a crisp breeze.

We left the portal and walked all day towards some mountains, stopping for the night in a nice warm igloo after a huge meal of wyvern meat. As Ra entered the underworld I had time to view him in detail, marvelling at his appearance. This is a young plane and this may be how he appeared when he first dawned from the primal kaos in elusia. That night we saw an huge ogre wandering about just outside of the camp, we left it alone and it left us alone (phew)

Next day we climbed up into the cold icy mountains to the human villiage encountering the low mana area which we investigated finding that spells last the same amount of time in it but casting is alot harder and our witch didn't like it much, It was cold.

The human villiage was really nice with cats, dogs and children running about everywhere, and many alert watchmen to allow warning so they can flee if nasty ogres come to eat them all. After freshening up and doing some investigating, including some visions I received from staring at Ra for an hour, we had dinner with the tribes elders, enjoying three different meals of wyvern meat with rye bread.

For the next four days we travelled the circumference of the low mana zone, its about ten miles across, cold and icy. And on the fifth day we went to the centre of the area and entered a cave, finding some plague carrying rats which we killed.

Exploring the cave we encountered several more groups of rats (killed) a huge bear (fed guild rations till it left us alone) and a golem. The golem was made of a black rock and when it hit you or you hit it it drained your BAH (affinities in your soul), permanantly reducing magical aptitutde. In some cases people permanently lost eleven times my minimal loss. Anyway our non-mage thorn killed it as she was somehow immune to the magical aptitude drain.

Nearby we entered a large cavern containing three grass huts and a large fire. The smoke from the fire left via a planar portal in the roof and down a small corridor was another more conventional planar portal.

The grass huts were warded with

  • Summon some deamonic lord "Astaroth" whoever he is
  • Cause flash flood drowning everyone
  • Blind the opener
  • It was about this time I decided that this had become an extreme level adventure and backing out was probably a good idea being a 'bunny' adventurer, besides destroying the golem had seemed to restore the mana somewhat in the area.
