Le Changegrit
Originally one of the Zes Ports this town fell into decline with the Interregnum and dropped out of the confederation to become a simple fishing village at the base of the Hoganspine Mountains the County Grobbety in Southern Aladar.
The town (now village) had grown from fishing huts on the beach in the centre of the village to houses precariously built in the surrounding cliffsides. The incline up from the beach (100m long by 15m wide) is around 3:1 and the surrounding hills rise to around 300m with some sections being vertical.
The drop in status from Town to village came about when a lot of the population died in the plague of 586 leaving the 'town' virtually deserted. The village has since increased its population to around 400 which represents a quarter of what it once had. There are large areas in the hills surrounding the village that have fallen to ruin over the last 200 years and are rumoured to be haunted by the ghosts of the plague dead.
In recent times 2 new slips have been built in the western end of the beach where rock was carved away by Horis Corpresgen and his company. They are now working to produce their first ships there and this has meant an increase in new workers in the town.
Recent rumours are....
- The Warden of the Zes Ports has been here a lot lately, he's interested in the new slips!
- Some of the new workers look tired all the time. A lot barely speak and keep to themselves and have moved into some old buildings near the slips (after doing some renovations) which is good to see the old buildings being used again.
