The Manor of Larkmoor is nestled within Kayt's Pass, deep in the Wylan Hills in the south of Aveice County, part of the Duchy of Volar, in the Western Marches. Larkmoor is a quiet backwater village shrouded in curses and dark secrets. Its primary claim to fame is that many of the local gentry are shape-shifter wolves, and have often been swayed by demonic temptation.

People of Note/Importance

  • Martin Mountjoy
  • Peter Mountjoy
  • Mardya Lindensouth (deceased)
  • Tarim Leigh (deceased)

There are three main gentry families in Larkmoor; the Mountjoys, the Rosensteins, and the Lindensouths. They are all quite small families. The Lord of the manor is Martin Mountjoy. He is also the leader of the Pack.

Other important Mountjoys include his son Peter, Peter's wife Sophia (who is Eltrandorian), and their baby girl. Eleanor Rosenstein leads a scattered and extended family - for instance Sevastian is currently in military service at Fearom, unless he's on the western borders. The Lindensouths are reduced to the elderly Katerina and her nephew Charles, who runs their lands.

History

Local History

The Pack has been part of Larkmoor society from the earliest days. Most of the gentry are Pack members, as are a few of the gentry from other towns that have married Larkmoorians. Larkmoor is a town of over a thousand people. It lies in a valley about 8-10 miles across, in the Wylan Hills protecting Volar from the wild south. Most of the valley, and all the surrounding hills are heavily wooded.

There had been a permanent winter in Larkmoor for twenty-five years, until 800WK. Despite the advent of summers, Larkmoor is still built and accustomed to permanent and extreme cold. Recently, caravans from northern Eltrandor have started using Kayt's Pass to trade with Volar.

Some hundreds of refugees from the Brastoran village of Charity have been settled in the valley a few miles from Larkmoor, and have settled an area known as New Charity.
