Fogg Island
Location
This island is found almost directly south of Chingkapur
Overall Details
This island is a volcanic island surrounded by a vibrant blue lagoon and barrier reef - if one could see if through the dense fog that sits just above the waters.
This island is around 35 miles in area and is so named as it's always covered in fog due to the central volcano being active and volcanic vents in the near ocean causing perpetual fog banks in the area. The island is an old one with many smaller islands surrounding it as well as area barely above sea-level that are simply ship wrecks waiting to happen.
Much of Fogg Isle's landscape is composed of luscious green hillsides and black volcanic rock that blends into a jagged coast bordered by white cliffs and small beaches. The jungle cover is extensive and up to 1-200 feet above ground level. The trees are thickly branched and intertwined across the island making several stands to be thicker than they would be individually and blending growth together. The jungle canopy is often layer by height heading up with the lower levels being the most traveling highway in the trees and other layers for lairs, sun travel and air and the like. The jungle floor is thick with intertwined vines sticks and rocks. Most often you are walking over branches and vines rather than actual dirt or rock. If you stop and dig down a few inches you'll reach earth or rock.
The twin peaks of Mount Hapia and Mount Manuote lie within the center of the island, and are the remnants of one extinct volcano. At 2,385 ft (727 m) Mount Manuote is the highest point of Fogg isle; Mount Hapia peaks at 2,159 ft (658 m).
There are sometimes tracks through the jungle and these could be made by humanoids or animals etc.
There is low level rumbling from the volcano but this is generally to small to detect, however occasionally deeper rumblings occur.
