Convent of Lost Souls

This Raphaelite convent is located several miles out of Lilburn in the county of Eastdale, in the Western Marches.

Activities

The nuns predominantly follow the ArchAngel Raphael, but some also follow Gabriel and Sammael. They run an advanced education and morality establishment for both initiates to the holy orders, and sinning adolescent girls from all over Volar. Most of their pupils are sent during the early stages of unplanned pregnancy, and stay nine to twelve months for re-educating.

Sewing, history, embroidery, theology, geo-politics, healthy living, philosophy, baby-rearing, cleaning, and literacy are all core components of the curriculum. The bonds created here are life-long, and the Old Girls network, both of nuns and gentlewomen, have caused many a manor to run more smoothly and peacefully.

Security

The Convent has a number of protections.

• There is a small Michaeline chapterhouse just outside the walls. Usually one to four Michaelines can be found there, but it will hold twenty.
• Any male sentient inside the grounds after dark will receive excruciating pain, followed swiftly by death. This effect extends miles into the sky.
• The Songmistress of the convent is Holly, a Sammaelite Fire Mage & Summoner.
• A frequent visitor is Sister Anathea, a Raphaelite White Witch and resident of New Charity.

History

A Chronology of Events and Encounters

• Autumn 798 WK. Mardya Lindensouth, a greater summoner and fallen woman, is sent to the convent under guard by Michaeline knights in Westphailia Succession.
• Summer 799 WK. Mardya Lindensouth is burned alive at the Convent of Lost Souls, but Cain escapes due to being a widdle-cutie-pie demon, in Westphalia III - The Burning of Mardya Lindensouth.
• Summer 801 WK. Cain is invading Crefeinn and Aveice, but is lured to Convent of Lost Souls, where a climactic battle kills Cain, at the cost of a few towns in The Seagate Adventurers Guild & Cain destroy the Sacred & Crefeinn.
• Winter 801 WK. Old Gods return to Eastdale, and destroy most of the churches, including the convent. A Guild party and Cain banish the Old Gods. The convent starts to rebuild.
