Session 1
Blight Of The Bloated Blobs
Night One: We Play Borrowing
I wander into the guild room with my party.
Party:
Moist - Halfling water mage
Storm - Halfling air mage
Winter (Me) - Elf air mage
Teddy - Halfling mind mage

Onyx - Orc earth mage

A wee little man walks in and says he’s Lambert Van Munster. He says that near and around his home, halfling sized, aggressive blobs are eating all the crops and will puke (that burns) on you if you approach.
Mission:
Find where they’re coming from and deal with the problem for good.
Pay: 60,000 (10k each) and 3 waters of healing each (ALL PAID UPFRONT)
We had a lot of questions naturally.
What we learnt:
- They’re a muddy green/brown and semi translucent. They have no fingers or hands but do have mouths. Halfling sized
- They make gurgling sounds and leave a snail trail type thing that evaporates.
- They are possibly coming form north east of Stonesboro. Hylo has been affected the worst so far.
- May be coming from forest near Hylo (They wander back there when finished) and a purple-y glowing light was spotted in the forest one night.
- They are more active at night, can squeeze through gaps and travel in groups of only as much as 6-7.
- They don’t tend to seek you out from a distance.
- Stabbing them doesn’t do much but they may not like fire. Nets don’t work.
- Don’t split into multiples as far as we know (phew)
- They’re not high climbers and don’t seem to come in houses.
He says we can find him at his house when we’re done and describes it, then leaves.
We pick up rations and pearl ash at the markets as well as some grenados and kindling.
DAY ONE:
Next morning we head out on foot.
Marching order:
1. Yukov and Winter
2. Teddy and Storm
3. Onyx and Moist
We walk north west all day and come to Good Mill. We see an inn and a tavern. We book rooms and meals at the inn and learn that the food is getting scarce here too.
YAY! Storm wants to play borrowing! I’m learning to play you know.
We go to the tavern and Teddy distracts people by telling fabulously tall tales and me and Moist keep an eye out. Storm does her thing.

Someone notices Storm stealing but as people are losing interest in Teddy: Moist and Yukov knock the guy out, Storm empties the borrowed bag and plants it on a drunk guy in the corner and we all get the heck out of there.

Watch 1: They hear the drunk guy getting called a thief next door and wake Storm to see the fist fight.
The other watches are quiet.
Session 2
Night 2: A Blobby Battle
DAY 2:
We head north east to Stonesboro eventually we see some dead and melted bushes to the left and a trail of dead plants maybe left by the blobs
I DA Dead Shrub From Path: Success
Aura Strength: Formerly Living.
Question: Cause Of Death? Acid exposure.
We follow the trial for half a mile… the poor plants get deader. We notice another couple of trails heading north and decide to follow.
As the trees get nice and dense, the trails get… gooey-er. They lead to the side of a hill with a cave entrance. We pull out a torch.
We stealth in marching order into the cave. We eventually see and hear some of the blobs. They are on top of the caves’ mushrooms and we can see the shrooms inside them… dissolving? Yuck.
Onyx DAs Blob: Success
Aura Strength: Non Sentient Animate.
Question: Generic True Name? Minor Amoeboid.
The amoeboids hear Teddy attempting to cast ESP (and failing.) They start gurgling alertly and we see more appear.
*Gurgle-y, squelchy battle sounds*
What we learn from fighting them:
- They leave a big pool of acid when they die.
- They throw? Puke? Spit? Balls of acid.
- Control animal doesn’t work
- Moist says the acid is alchemically similar to dirty swap water but something else is going on.

We notice the acid evaporates in the next 30 seconds to a minute.
Teddy tries to collect some but it burns through the jar.
The cave looks like a dead end so after Yukov collects some mushrooms, we leave and note where the cave is.

We head back to our original path and head north east again. By night we get about 3/4 of the way. We’re closer to a river now and trees are sparser. We set up camp.
- Watches 1 & 2: See nothing.
- Watch 3: Me and Storm hear gurgles and notice blobs floating down the river and disappearing downstream.
Session 3
Night 3: I Tell Stories
DAY 3:
We continue North East to Stonesboro the next day. We reach it by mid afternoon. We go straight into a tavern to ask some questions about the Blobs.
What we learn:
- The town are struggling to get food.
- Doors and windows tend to keep them out of buildings.
- They don’t hold their shape well.
- The last sighting was earlier today.
- The priest is a useful man in this town to talk to.
We book a room at the Stonesboro Central Inn and Tavern (although Teddy makes an enemy of the innkeeper by sheer annoying-ness, I guess) then we go to talk to the priest.
We find the church and Teddy ESP’s 3 minds inside that are hungry and stressed.
I DA church: Success

He says he’s tried to get food sent. He says they don’t seem to go for booze but anything else they can eat. He goes to his office and hands us a box that he says will help. Inside is 6 potion bottles that he said will make us faster (+1 TMR). Each has around 3 doses inside.

We head back to the inn and tavern. Storm wants to play borrowing! Yay! Teddy Hypnotises the barkeep into thinking we’ve traded him some delicious food for some drinks. I start enthralling people with dramatic tails of spider ducks (Yukov helps by making bone constructed models of them) and Teddy gets everyone singing sea shanties (We are great at distracting). The borrowing begins.

Storm sees a man who is finely dressed with a cool jacket and nice belt (with a family crest). She successfully picks his pockets (Gems worth 1000sp) and took his belt.
Me and Storm go up to bed but Storm sees the nicely dressed man goes to his room too so she makes a quick detour with Moist and Teddy to his room to get his jacket.
I wasn’t there but they got the jacket and then Teddy did something involving a teddy bear and underpants.

Watches 1 & 2: Don’t hear much.
Watch 3 (Storm & Winter): We don’t hear much till the barkeep comes to our door and says fancy dress man needs a healer and asks us to help. I get Yukov to come repair damage and soothe pain for him with me until he’s stable enough to go to a better healer than us.
DAY 4:
We head to Hylo. We walk till around 3pm and then Storm recognises a tree. She pulls out the map napkin (mapkin, if you will) that she borrowed at the tavern, it seems to match where we are.
We follow the instructions on the mapkin.
Onyx DAs between trees: Success

We approach the other side of the trees. We see the bushes get a bit denser and we hear voices.
Session 4
Night 4: We save Whatsit
Some of us move closer but we can’t see much. Yukov sends his bird to have a look and it says there are orcs and goblins and some goblins locked in cages seemingly unwillingly. Storm and Moist do a lap around the perimeter. They come back some time later having freed 2 of the goblins (one ran for the hills and the other is called Whatsit). They said they’d agreed to help free the goblins.
I send Yukov’s bird to let him know that we are on the goblins side and to please for the love of god, stop killing them (he’d killed one already).
Yukov, Storm and Moist stealth into the camp and kill the sleeping orcs. Yukov turns them into a party of undead. Teddy ‘controls person’ on another orc as a distraction and gets him to attack his friend. We all go in and fight.
*vigorous battle sounds*
We kill all enemies (including the reinforcements that come partway through) and Whatsit sets his fellow goblins free.
We loot.
Session 6
Night 6: Storm and the Stone
DAY 5:
In Hylo the next morning, we find a man selling maps of Hylo and the surrounding area. Storm steals one because we feel they are overpriced (and because she is very skilled). Moist waterproofs it.
The stone glows pointing east so we start following via the map. I hold the map while Storm holds the stone. Around midday we approach a bridge and stream and the stone starts to dim. We adjust our course west and then in an hour it points north again and we have to go off road through dense bush.
As we walk through the woods we see the stone glow a purple-y colour and me and Yukov hear a familiar gurgling. Teddy senses some hungry minds.
We see the amoeboids through the trees and in their ‘camp’ they have a stone matching ours in a tree.
We form a plan.
Our Plan:
Storm stealths around their camp and gets the stone. Me, Teddy and Onyx used ranged weapons on a tall bone-constructed platform. Moist and Yukov will be in melee with the help of Yukov’s skeleton minions. (They drink they minor acid resistant potions). Moist puts a fog over the camp to impede the blobs.
*Vague battle sounds*
Storm climbs the tree, gets the stone and feather falls down. We kill all the blobs and all Yukov’s skeletons perish.
Storm holds both stones and they start shaking and trying to pull together.
Onyx DAs their stone: Success

Storm lets them combine and they become one slightly bigger stone and stop shaking.

Stone now points north east-ish.
Session 7
Night 7: Stone Collecting
We decide to go the long way so we can follow the path. Once we get back to the fork we head north-ish on the path into the forest and make camp.
Watches:
- 1 (Yukov & Moist): They hear something and Yukov sees a humanoid figure in the bushes. They wake everyone. We move slowly into the bushes and see that it's Whatsit the goblin, out of breath. I empathy him: He’s scared, tired and minorly scratched. He says he’s been running for ages from a bear but it seems to have stopped chasing. Whatsit fainted.We bring him into camp and Yukov makes him a bone cage to keep him safe from bears while we sleep.
- 2 & 3: Nothing happens.
DAY 6:
In the morning Storm breaks Whatsit out of his cage and he brings us some mushrooms for breakfast… They weren’t fun mushrooms though.
The stone is pointing slightly off path but we decide to follow the path until we can’t. After an hour Storm says she has a vision of a cliffside with trees and a familiar purple-y glow from halfway up the cliff… Storm is magical. We follow the stone off path into the forest and find the cliffside. We see it's 50ft up and the glow is halfway. We see signs of bird droppings (probably vultures) and nests. Teddy ESPs a LOT of hungry avian minds.
Storm starts climbing the cliff (Yukov made a ladder but Storm wouldn’t use it). We suddenly see a group of just under a dozen vultures coming from north and they look… angry.
Storm grabs stone and the birds dive bomb for her… not on my watch! I manage to control avian 6 of them. I get 5 to intercept the ones still diving and attack them and one to spread its wings and act as a personal shield for Storm. Storm uses feather fall to jump down while they attack. Storm kills two of the uncontrolled and Yukov kills the others. I line the controlled ones up nicely just in case I need them again. Storm lands safely, thank goodness. We retreat into the forest a bit.
Onyx and I DA New Stone: Success

Question 2: Best Method Of Destruction? Overload.
Storm lets the new and old stone merge and there’s a blinding light. She says she has a vision of a dark cave type place with light from above and water. It might be underground. The stone is now a slightly bigger stone. Its midday so we have lunch and then set off. The stone is pointing back west.
We cross over the path and keep going, the stone pulls a little south. We come across big boulders under some trees with an entrance in the front.
Teddy ESPs: 8 animal minds 120ft away, maybe underground.
I summon an owl and ask it to scope inside the entrance (its name is Peanuts). When he comes back, he says he got a bit lost because there’s lots of different directions.
We enter the cave and see a three way fork. The front way is covered in rubble. I send Peanuts left and Yukov sends his raven Krev right and Storm inspects the rubble.
Peanuts: Left has a long tunnel with animal bones and 3 ‘brown rocks covered in grass’ (bears?)
Krev: Right has lots of shrooms and rocks and the walls are wet but there’s no water.
Yukov seals the left way with a bone wall in case of bears. The halflings can fit most of the way through the rubble but not the last part. They shuffle out and we work at the rubble with bone tools from Yukov. Teddy doesn’t help.. he says he’s ‘thinking’. After 2 hours we get all the way through.
On the other side there’s another split way. I send peanuts to the right. He said ‘there’s shiny and water and a big rock and I could see outside.’ We decide to go that way.
