This was the great low pass connecting Castle Montfychet and Palmirna which was destroyed by quakes in 778 (The Big Quake of 78) and the pass mostly filled with rubble.

Note

Lake Assyl was along the southern side of the pass. A lot of the lake was filled in by the quake of 78.
