Sly’s Place

While the Vulgar Unicorn's reputation for scurrilousness is well-earned it's nearest rival, once run by the legendarily shady Sly until a complicated series of accidents lead to his demise, is epitome of a "dive". Those too widely disliked by the "professional" elements if the Maze society, too unpleasant to be tolerated in even the Dockside taverns, and the generally less than picky congregate here to drink, sing raucously, and take their chances with gambling or prostitutes.

Currently the proprietor is Ahdio, who eschews the traditional barkeep's cloth apron for one made of chainmail and is famous for not throwing a customer out of his establishment until they are totally incapable of buying drinks, though he will will cheerfully slap disruptive customers around until they are less unruly. This is, in it's own way, an act of kindness as local pickpockets and muggers have learnt that regulars of Sly's Place leave the establishment penniless and aren't worth their bother.

The beverages sold at Sly's are better than they have any right to be, thanks to Ahdio's refusal to sell what he considers to be truly inferior drink to his customers. "Maeder's Red Gold" is among the beers available.

Situated near the equally notorious Wrong Way Park.

Staff, Patrons, and Others

Jodeera - Adhio's wife, and one of the ugliest women in Sanctuary. People commonly assume this is redeemed by her sweet voice, pleasant nature, and unerring accuracy with an empty tankard.

Nimsy - Elven Barmaid.

Throde - Adhio's crippled cellarman. He has a bad limp and uses a staff to aid his walking, but is strong enough to move kegs up from the cellar and keep the peace.

Maldu - Elven Regular. Doesn't talk much.

Ouleh Man-killer - A doubly endowed denizen who isn't afraid to approach a man to flaunt her "wares" and ask for a drink. A very friendly young woman with a quick tongue.

Glayph - An Ilsigi patron and contact and cut-out man for many deals. His half-lidded eyes miss little.

Tervy - Your average Ilsigi barfly.

Narvy - A big drunken troublemaker once ejected by Ahdio. His face is scared by fine scratches and he is reputed to have paralysing fear of cats.

Gootsfoot - Occasionally visits offering free samples of his own brew. Adhio appears to tolerate this because of the comedy his patrons find in mocking it.
