Gold Peak

A recently reclaimed Dwarven underground city beneath a semi-active volcano. A substantial population of dark dwarves still hold the lower reaches.

Historically the hold mined Zharbril, (Common: True-Gold), a naturally occuring alloy of mithril and gold appearing in the quartz deposits of the volcano and much sort after to decorate mithril weapons and armour. The hold was abandoned several hundred years ago when a curse fell upon the ore leading to madness among the population.

Recent rediscovery of ore near the volcano led to a gold rush and partial reopening of the upper halls. Seagate adventurers working with a multi-hold dwarven expedition were able to lift the ancient curse and pave the way for the hold to be reclaimed by the newly formed Seven Hammers Syndicate, descendants of dwarven clans that left Gold Peak in the past.

The hold is still in the early stages of reestablishing itself, and are currently a provisional member of the Axe Alliance.
