Sparlainth is a magical world set reasonably squarely in the bronze age. In some places, however, iron based technologies have been developed. Although magic is known to exist and one sees it from time to time, most practitioners are limited to working in one area that they know very well.

Notable presences on Sparlainth are Ruach, The Lord of Iron, and Theiron, The Lord of the Chaos Blades. Lord Ruach is known to have traded black iron for enchantments with the Seventh Plane. Lord Theiron, it appears, has raised fortifications on top of the ruins of an old temple which, the say, gives him access to High Compellings and possibly even Free Sendings.
