Weapons
Naming Blade

This two-handed sword has a base Strike Chance of 65% and the base damage is 2 rollup D10 + 2. If a weapon spell is cast upon it, the modified Cast Chance is increased by 20 and the duration is tripled.
It has an Individual True Name, but no Generic True Name. Whoever learns it can advance their Rank in this weapon to Rank 6 at no other Experience or time cost. For every five Ranks in this ITN, they can increase their Rank in this weapon by one to a maximum Rank of 10. Again, there is no Experience or further time cost required.
The wielder may name a Specific Grievous Injury every time they strike at one or more opponents. This is uttered in the language of battle and sentient opponents will always be able to understand the wielder's meaning. It must be loud enough that they can hear it clearly or else the naming doesn't count.
If
- the roll is 5% of their modified Strike Chance,
and
- the Specific Grievous Injury they name falls within the legal range for B Class weapons,
then the injury is applied.
However, if the Specific Grievous Injury is named more than once before midnight, then the wielder's defence is reduced by 20 for each repetition until the next dawn.
Cloven Shield

This is a small shield in the shape of a fleur-de-lys. It is made from some soft, pliant wood.
- It weighs no more than five pounds, reduces MD by two, but provides five Defence per Rank in Shield.
- In the event that the wielder suffers a Specific Grievous Injury, they may interpose the shield, thus avoiding all harm. This will automatically cleave the shield.
- The shield recovers from being cloven at dawn on the next Sunday.
Allies
Deuteronymy

Deuteronymy is a grumpy old cat with long white fur who has seen better days. He is incredibly lucky and for all practical purposes cannot be targeted by anything that might do him harm. In the special case where he is trapped in a box with poisoned food, then there is a 50/50 chance he will survive the encounter.
When he is happy, he provides two special abilities for his owner:
Mastermind's Foresight - Deuteronymy's owner is lucky with respect to administering any involved or complicated master plan. When there is some question as to whether a schedule will be adhered to, a deadline met or that an instruction might have been misunderstood, then the DM is expected to give the owner the 'benefit of the doubt'.
Lives of the Cat - If the owner should die, they can choose to pass this on to Deuteronymy who will expire immediately. The owner will resurrect fully healed one Pulse later, although their EN value will be permanently reduced by one. They can buy this EN reduction back in the usual way.
Deuteronymy, himself, is a legal target for Resurrection for as long as he has lives remaining. In fact, Healer's experience a subtraction of 30 from the die roll when they attempt to resurrect him, making it easier. Each attempt reduces the owner's EN value by one. Again, this can be bought back in the usual way.

- Things that make Deuteronymy happy
- Being carried. He detests walking.
- Sleeping.
- Being stroked.
- He prefers to dine on the more delicate cuts of failed henchmen. They don't necessarily have to be dead to provide this nutrition.
- Although he is sadly deprived of any ability to father the next generation, he takes a malicious pride in expressing his masculinity by spraying at every opportunity his bladder provides.
In general, the owner must spend an hour each day stroking Deuteronymy and generally keeping on his good side.
His stats are included for completeness sake but since he doesn't actually do anything, or ever suffer any harm, they are not expected to be required.

The owner of Deuteronymy is someone who manages to keep him happy for a season.
Miscellaneous
Pillow of Butterfly Wings

This silken slip must be filled with the wings of a thousand butterflies every year or lose its magical virtue.
Whoever rests their head on this pillow at night will fall quickly asleep. It is especially restful, lasting as long as eight hours and recovering an extra point of FT per hour that they sleep.
If they use the pillow during the day, then they will still sleep, but instead of resting, they may separate their mind from their body. Their consciousness assumes the form of a butterfly which can move about at their will in exactly the same way as a butterfuly, covering perhaps ten miles for every hour that they sleep.
They may choose for their body and all of their possessions to instantly travel to the location of the butterfly at any time before dusk, or simply to dissipate. In any case, the butterfuly dissipates as soon as the Sun leaves the sky. If the butterfly is killed on its travels, then the sleeper will waken but have lost half their EN. This may be healed back normally.
- Guild Security Advisory
Using the pillow to travel long distances is likely to give rise to stories of undead stalking the land, as rumours spread about people sleeping away the day only to disappear as night falls without having paid the bill.
Quizzing Glass

This ornamental glass weighs 2oz. It is designed for glaring through at social events, i.e. balls, tea parties, weddings, funerals, christenings or even suitably stylish sporting events.
If the wielder can catch a victim in some socially unapproved activity, regardless of how minor, and glare disapprovingly at them three times before midnight, then they may force the aforementioned victim to follow an instruction. The instruction can be pretty much anything, with the proviso that it be 'morally uplifting' in some way (e.g. taking a maiden aunt home from a ball early, etc).
Socially unapproved activites are things like flirting with the opposite sex, using the wrong cutlery at the table, uttering something embarrassing at a moment when the entire room has gone quiet, etc.
