'''GLORIANA, the Queen of Lilac''' wishes to gain more "friends" within the Seagate Adventurers Guild.  She would like bribe or befriend the Guild by sponsoring more awards for its most Valiant & Puissant members.

Having learnt about SAG’s quarterly meetings AND Celebrating the fact that there will be, within in the next few weeks comparatively easy transit to the Plane of Lilac … Gloriana would like to offer the following (1”x2”) '''magical “badges”''' as prizes for the three-monthly Guild meetings Meetings.
'''GLORIANA, Queen of Lilac''', in acknowledgement of the generally positive outcomes of Guild parties visiting Her World, has given five magical devices for the Guild to be awarded to the worthiest of its members at Guild meeting before the Spring 823Wk adventures go out.

She commits, barring any calamities or disasters, to supply the same (or better) for each quarterly meeting afterwards for at least the next three years.
The items are various '''broaches''' (a.k.a. '''Badges''') and their magic is only temporary — lasting one full Alusian Year (including the presentation day). However Her Radiance intends to send more each Alusian Quarter Day ... barring unforeseen circumstances.  ''e.g.'': It would be a Political Disaster to award any broach to a '''Necromancer''' (no matter how domesticated that guild-member appears to be).

Each badge may be sewn or riveted onto their clothes/armour. The badge will be effective ONLY for the genuine recipient … who needs to provide three drops of blood on the back of their Badge to complete the Royal Magic).
Each broach, is round (2 inches across) and depicts the stated image. There is also the Queen's Cypher (only visible by ''Witchsight'' or when ''Divinated''). Also there is an '''Acknowledgement Scroll''' on which the Guild officials will record the Name/ nickname/Title (etc) of the '''Genuine Recipient''' ('''G.R.''') of each Badge and (briefly) why she, or even he, was bestowed that particular Award.

The Front of the badge shows a personalised image that denotes the specific award:
Once the appropriate GuildMaster(s) or Officials have signed the '''Acknowledgement Scroll''', each '''G.R.''' must also promptly sign the '''A.S.''', then activate their Badge by pricking their thumb on their respective Badge pin(s)... whereupon its Magical effect will start —— but ceases to function exactly one complete Alusian year after the G.R. had signed the A.S., whereupon the Badge will turn into '''Brass''' and lose its magical bonuses.

1. '''The Shield of Gallantry''': for heroically aiding/defending blameless victims or bystanders that had been threatened/harmed by nasty villains. The '''genuine recipient''' magically gains +2 points more ARMOUR protection over & above their other item/magic/ situational bonuses etc. <BR>
However, on the plane of Lilac, a '''genuine wearer''' of any Badge (be it True-silver ''or'' Brass) and their family, & their mounts will customarily be sheltered and fed on the "Queen's Shilling" (''e.g.'', free to you & party) at any '''Castle''' or '''town''' of the Queen or her underlings. However any others in your retinue (apart from essential Valets, nurses, ''etc''.) would be probably sheltered in barns or other outbuildings.
2. '''The Silver Dagger''': for EITHER the “Best Kill” OR “Most damage inflicted” on an enemy. (Traditionally this is only awarded to deaths through physical combat or ingenious assassination rather than magic — unless the magic was exceptionally entertaining).  This badge gives the wearer +1 initiative in Melee (over & above existing conditions/magic)<BR>

3. '''The Peacock Feather''': +1 Perception (over & above existing conditions/magic)<BR>
'''HERALDRY''': Any knights, Officers, or Nobles may enhance their Coat of Arms with images of Badges that they had been awarded — however it is considered tacky to display more than three.
4. '''The Hammer of Righteousness''': '''+1 damage''' in all successful Melee combat by the genuine wearer (additional to all other factors!) as long as the wielder REASONABLY believes that they are truly in the Right ... otherwise it’s only +1 damage on the first strike only <BR>
5. '''The Flower of Courtesy''': for saying a relevant, TRUELY HEROIC phrase to reconcile a difficult situation. The recipient gains, a magical '''10%''' discount (after accounting for all the standard discounts and penalties) when rank EITHER '''Courtier''' OR  '''Military Scientist''' skill, but '''not''' both.

'''ADDITIONAL PRACTICAL BENEFITS''': EVERY valid badge entitles its Honored & rightful Wearer (with up to a dozen of Her/His skilled retainers (and their standard mounts of course) to be housed and fed for at least 2 days “at the Queen’s expense” when presented at a Royal Palace, or at the Seats of an Officer of State [''i.e.'', mostly Barons or above -- usually clearly marked on maps!].

GLORIANA, Queen of Lilac, in acknowledgement of the generally positive outcomes of Guild parties visiting Her World, has given five magical devices for the Guild to be awarded to the worthiest of its members at Guild meeting before the Spring 823Wk adventures go out.

The items are various broaches (a.k.a. Badges) and their magic is only temporary — lasting one full Alusian Year (including the presentation day). However Her Radiance intends to send more each Alusian Quarter Day ... barring unforeseen circumstances. e.g.: It would be a Political Disaster to award any broach to a Necromancer (no matter how domesticated that guild-member appears to be).

Each broach, is round (2 inches across) and depicts the stated image. There is also the Queen's Cypher (only visible by Witchsight or when Divinated). Also there is an Acknowledgement Scroll on which the Guild officials will record the Name/ nickname/Title (etc) of the Genuine Recipient (G.R.) of each Badge and (briefly) why she, or even he, was bestowed that particular Award.

Once the appropriate GuildMaster(s) or Officials have signed the Acknowledgement Scroll, each G.R. must also promptly sign the A.S., then activate their Badge by pricking their thumb on their respective Badge pin(s)... whereupon its Magical effect will start —— but ceases to function exactly one complete Alusian year after the G.R. had signed the A.S., whereupon the Badge will turn into Brass and lose its magical bonuses.

However, on the plane of Lilac, a genuine wearer of any Badge (be it True-silver or Brass) and their family, & their mounts will customarily be sheltered and fed on the "Queen's Shilling" (e.g., free to you & party) at any Castle or town of the Queen or her underlings. However any others in your retinue (apart from essential Valets, nurses, etc.) would be probably sheltered in barns or other outbuildings.

HERALDRY: Any knights, Officers, or Nobles may enhance their Coat of Arms with images of Badges that they had been awarded — however it is considered tacky to display more than three.
