Foo the Ferocious

Description
Foo is a large wildcat, standing about half a metre tall. Although still quite short, he has a tail about 20 centimetres in length. His ears are tufted, and his fur is spotted. He is about 60 centimetres long and weighs 80 lbs.
Comments
Foo is a proud hunter. In fact, he is, in general, very proud. He was the subject of an experimental magic which made him sentient and an Arithmetician. It also prevents him from enjoying the company of other cats.
Abilities
Foo is a Rank 0 Arithmetician and a Rank 2 Ranger, specialising in woods. He is a passionate devotee of opera, which he will perform at any opportunity, singing all of the parts himself.

As a wildcat, his Stealth is 136%, 142% in a natural environment, 146% in woodlands.

While Foo is a Fu lion, he may be targeted with Trollskin, requiring but a Cast Check and a Free Act. Armour of Earth will reduce damage by 1 as normal, but in addition, increase the Protection value of his fur by 1 per 4 Ranks.
He is also lucky while in this shape. Percentile dice are rolled in whichever way is most favourable, so a "90" could be read as "09" (or the other way around if a high number were more beneficial).
His stats, Skills, Weapons and Talents may be advanced at the normal cost. Whoever Foo allies with pays the required Experience. New abilities may be learnt but the lack of an opposable thumb restricts his choices somewhat, as does his illiteracy.

Menolly's Pact

Menolly has been accepted as an agent by Nienna, the elven Vala of compassion. Valar are, in turn, the agents of Eru, and the voices of all of the Valar, maiar, elves and the other creatures of the world (except orcs etc) give rise to His song, which is the world.
In Menolly, Nienna has seen a spirit full of warmth and compassion, ready to bring aid to those who need support.
Nienna would like Menolly to become a beacon of hope in a world grown cold. This involves ministering to the halt, lame, indigent and sick. It is now Menolly's office to show the sorrowful wisdom and to lend them strength of spirit.
The undead, denizens of the Seventh Plane and Valaraukar (Balrogs) are manifestations of corruption and the marring of Melkor and, unless there is evidence to suggest otherwise, should be cleansed as precipitately and as definitely as her gifts allow. Against these enemies, she has been armed appropriately.

Ritual of Creating Holy Water

This ritual takes half the time to advance Ranks.

Effects: As an agent of Nienna of the Tears, Menolly may create Holy Water. This is an act of Faith, and as such requires the sacrifice of Experience Points to the Forces of Light. The volume of water that may be created per act of Faith increases as this Ritual is Ranked and must be stored in crystal vials. This weighs about 1/2 lb. Creation of Holy Water requires clean water, a specially sanctified silver bowl worth at least 2,000 sp (which may be reused) and one hour in a peaceful glade.

Turn the Unholy

Requirements: Menolly must present a holy symbol and call out imprecations and gesture passionately.

Resist: None (See description)

Effects: While Menolly is Purified, she may call upon the power of Nienna of the Tears and shed upon the undead, unholy creatures summoned from the Seventh Plane (or similar places) and Valuraukar, her compassionate tears.

Lesser Undead, Half Devils & Imps;
1 (+1 per 2 Ranks) of the Lesser Undead, Half Devils or Imps may be Turned. The Turn chance is reduced by the highest WP value that have been targeted.
Greater Undead, Diabolicals and Valaraukar;
The Turn may only be attempted against an individual, and the reduction to the Turn Chance is equal to twice the target's WP.

If the Turn is successful, the unholy target(s) rolls on the Fright Table, applying any result, even if they would normally not be affected (for example, a skeleton could collapse from a heart attack and be destroyed). The Rank of this Talent is added to the Fright Table result. If the roll is in the range of a double effect, then twice the Rank is added to the Fright Table result. If the roll is in the range of a triple effect, then three times the Rank is added. If Menolly should roll higher than her modified Turn Chance, then her faith has wavered, and she loses the ability, until the next time she Purifies at dawn.

Nienna's Tear

This translucent, teardrop shaped stone looks like cabochon chalcedony. It is bound in ithildin wire on a chain of woven mithril. It weighs an ounce.

It is a holy symbol for agents of Nienna, and subtracts 10 from the result when one of them attempts to Turn the Unholy.

To Menolly's eyes, the tear turns pink when she has been targeted by the unholy or Valaraukar and she may subtract 10 from the result of her Magic Resistance on such occasions. If the modified result of her Magic Resistance check is 1 or less, then Nienna's Mercy will surround her like a transparent dome on the hex she is standing. She, and anyone else standing in the dome, will be entirely protected from the magic. In other words, if she rolls low enough, Menolly could dissipate the effects of Dragonflames in her hex, not suffering any damage at all, so long as the magic were cast by an unholy creature or Valaraukar.

This stacks with other die roll modifiers.

Bloodstone Prayer Bead

This prayer bead acts exactly like an Amulet of Bloodstone. Its setting will easily allow it to attach to a bracelet.

Once a day, resetting at dawn, the bead allows an agent of Nienna to Cast the Healing Spell, which will take effect immediately without requiring Spell Preparation.
