With the Elves retreating into their forests within the Alfheim borders, small citystates, minor kindgoms and tribes of warring nomads

When Ulric's father died leaving a 16yr old in charge of the city state of Augenstatt no-one expected the young noble to survive in the violence inherent in the times. Ulric however defied all the odds and within 10 years of taking his fathers title had carved out a small kingdom from the area we now know as Fesenheim in Aquila. In the 64 years that followed his crowning as the King of the West, he had added a number of smaller kingdoms, city states and crushed a number of barbarian uprisings.

The largest addition to the Kingdom came when at the age of 37 he married the Marquess of Bowcourt, in an alliance that added the March to the Kingdom.

Most of modern Aquila and Bowcourt became the original western kingdom, a political entity that has lasted over 800 years
