The wood is 35 miles east of Chapel Crossing in eastern Brastor is named for the large number of Thorneapple trees which grow throughout it, making passage difficult for anyone not on foot.

Thornapple trees grow to 15-20ft tall and are a wide canopied tree. The lower branches start at around 5 ft from the ground on a mature tree and are very flexible. The 'apples' are very bitter and are used primarily for cooking or distilling into a potent spirit. Each fruit is surrounded by a number of sharp spines giving the tree it's name.

Caution is advised for anyone walking through these groves and riding is not advised.
