Sith's Revenge
A Short History
Approximately 2000 years ago, this once-fertile plain containing the rich trading city of Panjari (a colony of Shorapur) was destroyed and Sith's Revenge was created. This all happened during the Kinslaying when the wizard Sith punished the inhabitants of the city for rebelling against their lord by sinking much of the plain and creating a huge swamp.
For some years undead roamed the swamp filling all that did not flee. The Swamp over the intervening years destroyed what little ruins where left of the city, except for some large pyramids (which are strong in magic).
Recent events:
Until Winter 807 Panjari was a rotting ruin surrounded by a stinking marsh. After Winter 807 the swamp was renewed, and all the undead destroyed. The Suarime returned to the Novadom area shortly before this event.
The Renewed Swamp
The 'rollback' effect basically caused the swamp to return to the state it was in thousands and thousands of years ago. It is currently a healthy swamp also containing areas of Carboniferous forests and large reptilian creatures, including flying ones. It is unknown whether many of them will survive the next winter and what affect that the surrounding countryside is going to have on this area.
One side effect of the 'rollback' was that the interplanar boundaries in the area have been weakened. In one case, a hive entity on a malignant plane managed to cause an incursion into the area, but that has been repelled, and that area of the swamp restored. On top of a large mesa near the centre of the area, several interdimensional rifts have been found, many of them intermittent and unstable, mostly lasting only a few seconds before closing again. It is also unknown at this stage if the interplanar boundaries with strengthen and close the rifts permanently.
