Observations of Mazarathin

After the turmoil of the last few years in the Kijaand Empire a relative calm and security has returned to the land. The pogroms instituted by Kosiva Zaorich against the human and orcish populations have left many of the cities relatively empty. This has left the remaining populace in a stronger position with increased access to wealth and medicine. The high rates of infanticide within the human and orcish populations however continues, and the breeding programs of the Houses have become more intensive.

The expansion of the imperial army caused the recent seige of Sernoyia has not yet reversed but a majority of the troops have been stationed at the borders. Many of the fortifications on the eastern side of the Kashhan have been re-occupied but beyond a number of minor incidents trouble within the area has not occurred.

Within the Empire the major Houses have exterted considerable pressure on the minor houses, forcing most to become official vassels and more firmly aligning themselves to the major factions. With many houses short on both slave forces and house militia the trend has been to advance in commerce.
