Na'fa

A city in the foothills of the Steel mountains of Naraxlos and home to House Tal'Diren of the Kijaand Empire. Built on the river Sumunmar, a tributary of the Surhan, this city resembles an extended fortress, using the river to moat off a central fortified island, build on a rocky prometory.

Surrounding the central island is a tightly packed area of dense housing with a formidible outer wall. Beyond that are fields surrounding small hamlets, each area walled off from the others, with a final wall extending several miles from the city itself. Beyond that are larger fields and woodlands, with a number of fortified towers over looking the area from the surrounding foothills.

As the result of this Na'fa has survived innumerable raids from the Kashhan without ever being overrun, although it has lost the outer towns often and the inner city several times temporarily the central fortress has never been taken.

The river Sumanmar itself is sourced from the Highvale Falls, a series of waterfalls and streams originating from the western side of Highvale ridge. A road from Na'fa to the town of Highvale winds its away though the falls.
