Ley Lines are straight lines of force underground that may be from just a few to many miles in length and connect places of power and high mana zones. Many ancient portals are built to work along ley lines.

Some may be visible on the ground for all or part of their length by the remnants of an old straight track. These tracks are also called fairy paths. Ley lines without tracks can be difficult to find, although various forms of vision that can see enchantments, and the vision of Fire Mages may be able to detect them.

Ley lines are most obvious where they cross other lines, and these nexus points often have considerable power.

Most ley lines are underground, but a few are in the air, although these are often ephemeral, lasting only a few months or years and may also move, making them unsuitable for portals.

A number of ley lines converge near the village of D'arbres.
