Jade Dragon
(aka Lord Yo, Yo Long, Yu Lung, the Green Mage, and in ancient times; Nephros)
History
Nephros was the youngest of the second generation of the Ancient Dragons, and was only a youth (in the reckonging of his people) when Baal tried to unmake the universe and sundered the planes (resulting in the Alternate Alusias}.
After Baal was cast down and imprisoned most of the first and second generation dragons left Alusia, but Nephros and a few others remained behind to watch over the younger races. Nephros became an advisor and tutor to the fledging Elven Empire, and was named by the elves: "Yo Long", the "Jade Dragon".
When the Elven Empire fell -- despite the attempts by Jade Dragon and others to sway them from their path -- Yo Long (known by many to be an ancient dragon) disappeared from worldly affairs, and did not get caught up in the devastation. It was believed by many that he had left with the winged elves, the Vanyarami.
Some time later, Jade Dragon, now apparently elven and called "the Green Mage" turned up away to the east of the old empire where he became an advisor to the Erelheine (before they emigrated to Kinlu). When the islands of Erelhei sank beneath the waves 2000 odd years back, due to mucking about with eldritch sorceries (which he had advised them against), the Green Mage accompanied the survivors south-westwards to the islands of Kinlu... where he remained a mysterious court advisor.
Recently (subjective time) a Guild party travelled back to the Old Empire and met a younger Lord Yo. They may have influenced some events back then -- although it appears most events would have happened without the interference of time travellers. Lord Yo told the party a story about the early days of Alusia, and gave the party a small statue of a dragon to give to the Green Mage. This turned out to contain most of his yang (or yin)... or both, and explained how he dropped out of sight before the war (once it was obvious that the time of diplomacy / gentle guidance was past).
The Green Mage, upon touching the statue, was restored to his previous state, and as Yo Long has once more has been quite active in recent Alusian events (though still in a reasonably subtle way) prodding parties into dealing with events in Terranova and the release (and subsequent vanquishing) of Baal.
Description
Lord Yo's physical description (post the restoration of his powers) is that of a tall (6' 6") and slender man of indeterminate (but mature) age. His features combine both elven and human traits; his features are fine, straight snow white hair reaches his waist, and he sports both a long, drooping moustache and beard. His eyes are usually green but change with his mood, running the full spectrum of colours seen in jade stone. He normally dresses in long green robes of a courtly Kinlu style with high collar and draping sleeves (from which he seems able to produce various objects). He generally speaks softly and gently and appears to have quite a sense of humour.
Location
Lord Yo can often be contacted via the Kinlu court -- for some reason that no-one else can figure out he seems to enjoy the company of Kokhan the Summoner... whom Lord Yo (and only Lord Yo) refers to affectionately as "Ko-ko".
Lord Yo's home is a huge tower of jade rising directly out of the ocean some hundreds of miles to the north and west of Kinlu (in the middle of nowhere) and connected to the (partially defunct) ancient elven portal network that he appears to have been quietly reparing.
Other Notes
When travelling he prefers his flying jade teabowl, which can shrink to the size of a normal teabowl (before vanishing up his sleeve), or grow large enough to accomodate Lord Yo and a number of companions. He has on occasion given people objects to convey messages to him. These typically take the form of a small carp statuette shaped of jade. The user speaks a message to the stone fish and then drops it into any water that connects to the sea, at which the fish animates and returns to Lord Yo (at rather high speed).
