- Investigation by Kirgoth
In the previous season, six of Prince Engaltons siege engines were damaged or destroyed at his city of Novadon. Prince Engalton has asked me to find out what happened and arrest those responsible.
- A letter to Prince Engalton
- Prince Engalton of Novadon, Lord of Newhaven
- I, Kirgoth, have managed to uncover what I believe occurred with the siege engine having found the sole known dwarven survivor and questioning him on two occasions.
- The party of Albion, Guede, Lizette, Elmelio, Cher and Viola met up with a group of around a dozen dwarves led by Zerac (deceased) who decided to help kill the dragon ravaging to the north of Novadon, they took a single finely made mangonel (catapult) which they had been commissioned to manufacture with them.
- The dwarves were motivated by a crusading desire to do good, rather than seeking treasure, and appear to have had little or no combat experience, being master craftsmen rather than soldiers. They were good people. They missed the dragon with the mangonel, which is unsurprising considering they sometimes miss castles, were feared and then hunted, tortured, cursed and most likely devoured. The sole known survivor Garrack was mad with dragon fear, cursed with the evil eye and half dead from burns and starvation when we found him, after mind-mage and other healing he now has no waking memory of the events and is happily assisting in the reconstruction efforts. Garrack was quite adamant that the dragon had been forewarned and was awaiting in ambush, I don't know if this was the doing of Viola's demon attempting to manufacture a situation where it could "rescue" the party or dragonic magic.
- Zerac was responsible for the loss of the siege engine as he was in charge of it at the time, and there is no evidence that he was coerced. The party while innocent of its loss are guilty of bad judgement in allowing non combatants to accompany them on a very dangerous mission, taking advantage of the extreme zeal of the good people of Novadon and a callous disregard for their lives afterwards in not even attempting to rescue the survivors.
- Our mission has been highly sucessful
- The pass to Brastor is now open and appears to have been blocked by mercenaries hired by an enemy of yours, we have a letter from her to the mercenaries.
- A group of rebels is planning to abduct your guest, Lord Rainier we have a letter from them to Lord Rainier complete with the seal of some noble house.
- The monster in the bay which was stopping the fishermen from fishing has been killed.
- A necromantic wight and his controlled undead have been killed in your towers catacombs.
- Twenty five heavy warhorses have been brought over the pass from Novadon.
- We will not be back till a week or so after the guild meeting as we are about to clear the star of Naggaroth of monsters which were missed during the liberation. If you could mention it at the guild meeting, I wish to nominate Bodric Henrikson for bravest adventurer.
- The monster in the bay, a huge tentacled golem, with yard long strange metal blades on the end of its tentacles destroyed the end of a wharf we were on, dropping Henric into the water where in a matter of seconds, he was grappled, hacked up and unconscious. Bodric leaped from the wharf as the monster was about to swim off to eat his brother and smote it with his mattoc, driving it away and saving him from likely permanent death.
