Master Jones merchant of ancient drow artifacts and mercenary
Baron Oldcastle fake nobility and friend of the Powers of Light
"The King of Veltyandar" everyone creates their own kingdom at some point (abdicated to his son)

A male human illusionist played by Ian Hasell.

He is 6'2" and in his mid thirties. A good looking and worldly fellow he always wears the latest fashions.

Skills

Gerrad started his career as an adventurer as a merchant, spy and courtier. He has since branched out into troubadour and warrior. A generalist he has good skills for most situations, but is best suited to urban settings.

Spells

As an experienced mage he knows most of his college with an emphasis on Disguise, Invisibility, Maze and Nightmare.

Background

Gerrad is from a plane known as Earth. A stange place where there is no magic and mechanicians and merchants rule. He was brought to a plane called Skyblue by a strange mage who was creating an army of mages to fight in a war. He learnt the college of illusions from a strange learning helmet. The mage was cast down by his enemies before Gerrad and his companions could discover where or what they had been brought to Skyblue for. The war was won and Gerrad, along with the others, was cast into the world with no hope of returning home. A rescue party was sent to Skyblue by the Seagate Guild of Adventurers and they brought the stranded Earthlings back to Alusia with them.

GM Information

Privately Gerrad thinks that Alusia is all a dream. As far as he is concerned, the world is just a game that he has somehow been drawn into and will wake up from at some point. As a consequence he is often reckless and uncaring about his personal safety and unmindful of the consequences of his actions to the lives of other people. That said, he genuinely cares about the lives of his companions and will do all things necessary to protect them.

He will take on different roles with relish, totally living the new character. Some players may find it strange that he can be a mindless thug, charming courtier or rescuer of the innocent depending on the weather. As far as he is concerned it is all acting and the world is fake anyway. This has been reinforced by the fact that he has been through amazing adventures and all of his companions come through without any permanent harm, while planes/cities/hordes are destroyed around them - it just can't be real.
