Consumables
Spider Silk Bandage
This bandage, woven from spider silk, is sticky on one side. It can be slapped against a wound, and will heal 1D10 damage points, + 1/Rank in Healer. Bandages that are in a pocket must be prepared, and this will take a Pass Action. Bandages in a backpack can take up to 4 Pulses to prepare. A bandage that is on a belt, or in some easy to get at place does not require any special Actions to prepare. Attaching the bandage to a wound requires a Pass Action.
The bandage will always heal EN deficit first, then FT deficit. It will never heal FT which is lost from spell casting or through tiredness.

Healing Potion
This potion may be taken without preparing it and is fragile. It weighs 4 oz and will cure 9 EN deficit, wrapping to FT deficit. It will not cure the special damage associated with any Grievous Injury, nor will
it "cure" tiredness fatigue (including that lost due to spell casting). However, it can Cure disease, infection, fever, headaches and Prolong Life as if attempted by a Healer of Rank 3.

Consciousness Disc
These discs are made from wood, must be worn openly on clothing to be effective, and weigh 1 lb each.
If the wearer should fail a MR check vs Sleep, Mental Attack, Hibernation, Petit Mort, Century Long Sleep or similar magic, then they may elect, without requiring the use of an Action, to destroy a disc, whereupon they will be considered to have succeeded.

Rank 10 Alchemy
This potion bottle is chased in a delicate alloy of silver and tin. It weighs 4 oz and if it is subjected to a sudden blow will break on a percentile roll greater than 70. It need not be prepared before imbibing. It weighs 4 oz.
The effects lasts for 12 pulses. For that period, Preparing a spell no longer requires an Action, but cannot be combined with a Cast Action.

Weapons
Flint Blade
This magical weapon sword weighs 4 lbs and can be wielded as a Falchion. The blade is knapped from flint which has been permanently rendered as hard and effective as the finest steel by performing a Ritual of Binding Earth over it. The base Strike Chance is 75. To determine the damage a special stone D10 is rolled, and the following table consulted:

Whenever the blade generates 40 or more damage, the wielder must Break 100 + 2 x MD to avoid shattering it.
Those who are Earth aspected subtract 1 from the result of their Strike Check when they attack with it in addition to any other die roll subtractions they are entitled to. Those who are Air aspected add 1 to the result of a Strike Check when they attack with it.
If a Diamond Weapon spell is cast upon it, the Adept pays 1 less FT, the duration is doubled and it will be immune from shattering as noted above. In addition, the wielder subtracts another 1 per 5 Ranks from the result of a Strike Check.

Lesser Runeblade
This runed falchion weighs 2 lbs. The Base Strike Chance is 55% and the base Damage is D10+3. This weapon is sensitive to the wielder's intent, so MA replaces MD for all purposes while using the weapon.
The blade stores 12 FT which the wielder may draw upon to cast spells, even if they have no FT of their own left. This pool of FT will replenish at the stroke of midnight on a night of the full moon.

Armour
Bandolier of Change
This leather bandolier weighs ½ lb and has five small pockets. Each pocket will hold a single object no more than 10 cms along its greatest dimension which weighs less than 10 lbs. While the object is in the pocket, it will not count against the wearer's Encumbrance.
In addition, if the wearer is a shape changer, then the bandolier will allow them to benefit from the Protection value of their armour when they are in animal form.
Example:
The shape changer can turn into a duck with 1 point of Protection from feathers. In human form, they wear hard leather armour for 5 Protection. If they wear the bandolier, when they transform into a duck, they will have 5 points of Protection, not 1.

Jewellery
Ring of Protection
This plain ring weighs about 2oz. Its magic will only be effective if it is worn on the ring finger of the right hand. The wearer subtracts 10 from the die roll whenever they attempt to resist magic, making it more likely that they will succeed. It does not increase Magic Resistance.
In addition, it surrounds the wearer with 11 pentagonal planes of protection that float around them on all sides. Each pentagon is inscribed with magical glyphs along the edges. A pentagon will appear and protect the wearer so that the first 7 physical damage points the wearer takes per pulse are ignored. This does not work vs most kinds of magical damage, although it can be applied to damage from spells like Diamond Javelins, Ice Bolt or Ice Projectiles. Nor does it protect against hits directly to EN or Specific Grievous Injuries.
If the wearer has some similar means of protection, then the greatest protection will apply.

Mage Thumb Amulet
This amulet weighs 1/4 lb and was made from the mummified thumb of a Thaumaturge. When it is worn (so that it can be clearly seen) it provides the wearer with +7 MR versus any magic of the Branch of Thaumaturgies. Current Thaumaturgies include Binding and Animating Magic, Bardic Magic, Ensorcelments and Enchantments, Sorceries of the Mind, Naming Incantations and Illusions.

This spindle is made from lignam vitae, and has gold serpent figures set into the amber head. It weighs 2 lbs.
It adds 5 to the base chance of any magic that involves spinning or weaving. Spells affected are, but not limited to: Web of Entanglement, Web of Light, Web of Darkness, Whirlwind Vortex, Maelstrom, Waterspout and Mothwings Go Spinning.

Collar of Beast Speaking
This spiked collars weigh ½ lb. Any mundane beast able to wear it is a legal target of the Mind Speech spell cast by the collars owner and may become a member of such a community. This does not increase their intelligence or otherwise give them a language, but it does allow the owner to communicate with them as if they were the subject of a Converse with Animals spell or similar magic.
While the beast wears the collar, they are not entitled to a Magic Resistance Check to avoid the effects of a Binding Will Ritual cast upon them by the owner of the collar.

Allies
Sideways Tom
Tom is a secret passage who is not as young as he once was. He will happily communicate with anyone who can cast Speak to Enchanted Creatures, but he is always considered out of range of most other spells, even if he is adjacent to the centre of the effect.
Once a day, Tom may be attached to a wall by means of the Opening spell, where he will extend inside, creating a passage 10 ft long (+1 ft/Rank of the spell). If that length of passage would create a connection from the point of attachment to the other side of the structure, then the owner and their companions may transit the passage. Each end of the passage is considered to be Blended at the Rank of the owner's Opening spell.
He is getting on a bit now, however, and can only support as many as 42 sizes of entities that transit him, before becoming exhausted. Should he become so exhausted, he will not be accessible until the next dawn. Also, if he is left on a wall for much longer than an hour, he will tend to nod off and his snoring is best described as wall-shaking.
He may be dismissed by casting the Mage Lock spell.
Tom dreams of spending his remaining days on a sunny wall with a view of well-formed and generously-proportioned lanes who are no better than they ought to be.

Ventriloquism-Whisper Line
Name: Whisper Line
Spell: Ventriloquism
Effects: This incantation of the Ventriloquism spell allows the Adept and 1 (+1 per 3 or fraction Ranks) other entities to communicate with each other by unheard speech. The range is calculated from the Adept. Entities may be added to the speech community after the initial cast if the Adept touches them, and provided that the spell can support that amount of targets. Similarly, if a member of the community moves out of the Adept's range, they may be returned to it, requiring the Adept's touch as above.
Enhanced Hearing or similar may detect the Whisper Line, but not overhear what is said unless the eavesdropper Breaks 100 + PC + Rank in Enhanced Hearing. The range at which they might detect and overhear is 10 ft (+10 ft/Rank) from the nearest member of the speech community.
Cost: 750 Experience.
Constraints: Unracks the spell, reduces FT by 1
This incantation is not teachable.

Whitefyre

Effects: The spell creates a stream of otherworldly fire which will travel
to the Adept's target, striking the first object or entity along its path of travel. Any one hex creature (or smaller) must Resist or their EN will be reduced to -1, bleeding at a rate of 1 damage point per subsequent Pulse.
If the target is an object or larger than one hex, they take D10 + 1/Rank. If the spell is successfully Resisted, then targets take half damage.
The stream of whitefyre lasts from the time the spell is cast until the end of the Pulse, so long as the Adept wills it and does not move. A straight line is drawn on the hex grid, and if the Whitefyre stream shares a hex with an entity or object that crosses its path, they must Resist, subtracting 20 from the die roll (making it easier).
Although the spell inflicts harm by fire or burning, it is not elemental or mundane, and is therefore not affected by Fire Armour or Protection from Fire.
The spell must be ritually cast into a spell rack before it can be cast, but takes no constraints, so does not unrack in the normal course of events. It constitutes a Special Knowledge spell of the Adept's College, and is not teachable.
