My House Rules

  1. Anything can break, be broken, mashed or destroyed.
  2. Don't fret but unplanned Falling/Landing or doing so badly will have consequences.
  3. If you make mistakes learn from them!
  4. Know your PC and know what a rolled result means before GM modifications. If your PC is old or complex and complicated then have a cheat sheet to jog your memory.
  5. Don't belittle another players playing of their PC when they are playing their PC to the GM / group. Snide asides when playing just invite a retort that may be close to home or seem hostile. Each player plays their PC differently and how you would do something isn't how they would do the same thing.
  6. PC's often have knowledge of specific things that other PC's aren't aware of (they weren't on the same game previously etc) and so listen before talking over them.
  7. Stay on the ball, when asked for an action the first one stated will be taken.
  8. We are all here to enjoy the game, play nicely and reap the rewards of group synergy or die alone - one by one. Also I GM to provide enjoyment for the players and forward campaign goals

My GM Beliefs

  1. Bonus Exp tends to be given for good ideas, planning, character consistency, encouragement and general playing (GM's are still open to bribes really - don't let 'Politically Correct' madness infect our game) for fun and group enjoyment.
  2. Developing character depth is encouraged as they provide external influences upon a PC and give more dimensions to their character. If you want more depth like this then plan something and get buy in from appropriate people (GM's & PC's) if it would be reasonable and not have too great an OOG influence.
  3. Nice people are preferred to horrible, annoying, badly mannered or smelly people.
  4. One dimensional characters have a limited life span of enjoy ability and play ability for the player and fellow players
  5. PC's often have some aspect of the player's personality but each of the PC's should have different aspects. Don't play different PC's the same way.
  6. Players are more valuable than characters. We often play to enjoy a shared experience with others, especially those we like as people. Please don't just be one character but have multiple characters who can play on a range of games, not just the high extremes.
  7. Things die and pass on. Retirement is an option. Characters can die and should die over time, don't let the statistical aberration of the last few years fool you - death comes to all of us.

Be nice to your hosts, they are providing you with a nice, warm friendly place to play in. Keep it tidy, keep the noise down if asked, be courteous / friendly and try to leave it in the same state you found it in or better ;-)
