Briar

Briar is a young human witch born into a military family, her father is a sergeant and her mother is a certified wicca with the same troop. She is the 3rd child and her older brothers are men-at-arms. The family has traveled with their Lords troop, manning castles and fighting bandits in the highlands and moorlands.

She has spent some time with her brothers, mostly to learn a few ranger skills and to mind the horses and animals while they are out scouting. She has also spent time with her mother learning a few witchy ways, gaining some simple skills in talking to and blessing the beasts of the troop; pack horses, cart horses/oxen, war dogs, cavalry mounts and making sure the food animals are healthy.

Briar's fighting skills are those of a beginner, she uses a Saber and Buckler, and she has a Short Bow.

Briar's mage skills are also those of a beginner, she can converse with animals, cast darkness and move "unseen". She prefers to bless livestock before dawn or after dusk.

Briar has a familar Ash, a mist crow (since a black crow is a bit too witchy for soldiers comfort). She always carries a small pouch of meal worms to feed Ash and shares his eyes to map out the landscape while trekking.

Comments
When in combat crows tend to go for the eyes, so the armour protection rating for the character defending against crows should be decreased by 3 or 4 points.
