Roderigo

Roderigo was an unappealing hobbit who practises E&E magic, and other forms of skullduggery. He is played by Michael McFadden. Also known as: Roderigo the Unbecoming, Lord Gyldholm of Aladar (Western Kingdoms).

Description – Roderigo began life as a city halfling of dubious parentage & character - his father was allegedly a thief of a slightly better class but either jailed or in hiding elsewhere. His mother – ostensibly a barmaid was a pick pocket and reputedly a forger.

Recently his social standing has increased considerably, being awarded a medal, a knighthood, and a manorial fief of Gyldholm South (1 mile SE of Gyldholm town in the Gyldwasser mountains) in recognition of their service in at The Battle of Salicton 11th of Thaw (spring) 812WK. This was all completely inappropriate to his character & background, & he could potentially become a vulgar nouveau riche social climber.

Physically he has a number of scars & pockmarks on his face and also several missing teeth replaced by gold ones. Recently he also acquired a facial brand courtesy of a Drow queen to whom he gave "the fingers" apparently not discretely enough. He has different coloured eyes - one brown & one purple in colour. There is a small tattoo of a tear below his left eye. He has a tattoo on his inner left forearm or a dagger piercing a heart with a snake wrapped around them and on his right inner forearm a skull & cross bones with the words “Death & Dishonour” He has a thin moustache & sideburns... He has short black greasy hair. He wears a gold identity bracelet & gold rings.

He "allegedly" possesses retractable fangs. He can climb any surface and even ceilings due to being bitten by a radioactive packrat in the modern world of Reich.

Upon entering the Guild he was a sneaky, uncouth and a mostly disreputable hobbit who had the reputation for doing (almost) anything for a sheckel. Nonetheless, he was intelligent enough to see magic as a better means way to get ahead than grave-robbing – his other previous occupation along with "butcher". Pre-adventuring he had pretensions to improve himself socially, possibly to becoming a gentlemen pimp, undertaker or a fence/ pawnbroker at some stage.... but his horizons have been expanded greatly due to wealth & a title….

He is not especially brave in face to face combat and prefers to attack from behind or a distance. He is a clever "pragmatist" believing in safety in numbers when convenient & believes that adventurers in reality share a similar philosophy to himself (despite their pretensions and various philosophies / religions to the contrary) in that - in exchange for money and or the opportunity for treasure, adventurers are contracted to perform tasks that always involve killing someone or something brutally… so what is the difference really? So he is a loyal party member as he relies on the larger more powerful ones to assist him… . .& has come to like the easy company, greed & action promoted by guild adventures…

…. Roderigo was not active in the guild for a 7 year period. This followed a series of advertisements he placed in the 'Seagate Times" offering a graveyard retrieval service... these factors may be unrelated... He is now wondering whether he should reform or not having witnessed the benefits to be obtained by manners, politeness & discretion….but attending courtier lessons seems like an awful drag... so has purchased a 2nd hand copy of "Manners Done Easy" by one Azgog Scullcrush, Orc Philiospher...
