Hoar Dwarves

Name given to the dwarves hailing from the far northern enclaves of Dvergarheim, Harhakeim, and Kondasgel.

The name appears to refer to both "old" or "ancient" dwarves (the original Dvergarheim settlement being very old), and also to hoarfrost, specifically the type that forms on snow and causes avalanches; common in the area.

Dwarves from some of the southern settlements claim a very different origin for the name; a claim that can cause considerable friction with their far northern cousins.
