The aim of this chapter is to show that it requires fairly fine distinctions of theory to separate the helio and geo centric models, so while few Mariners (though many sailors) believed the world is flat, it is still intellectually respectable to believe either a geo or heliocentric model, based on preferences of many circles over fewer complex curves, or similar aesthtic points. In short, characters can disagree about the shape of the world without either having to be crazy or denying known facts. This fits with comments on Worlds_of_the_Aether about Alusian thought.
