A title accorded the adventurer Silken by the Western Church, following miraculous revelations on Lugnasad 800 WK.

On Th'rsday the third of Fruit 800, criers announced through the streets of Old and New Seagate that at noon, in the public square adjoining the Duke's castle in Old Seagate, Archbishop Mordeaux of the Unified Western Church would make a public announcement.

The public square was thronged with interested townsfolk and not a few of the refugees from the war in the south who had managed to slip into the city as well.

A platform had been set up in the square and it was surrounded by armed and serious looking soldiers from the Duke's personal guard, reinforced by a score or more of Church Knights.

At noon, Archbishop Mordeaux and two other bishops of the church, appeared on the platform, and Mordeaux addressed the crowd:

"These are dark times, my friends, and there are some that say that we shall be overwhelmed and lost in that darkness. By I say to you, that even when all hope appears lost, if we follow the teachings and accept the blessings of the Elohim, a light will appear in the darkness and the road will be lit beneath our feet".

"Two days ago, at our evening service, Dame Silken of Bergelfen came to us and told us of the wondrous visions that had been sent to her. She told us that the revered Archangel Michael spoke to her and instructed her to come to us, and that she would be given the holy Standard of Blessed Saint Jeremiah the Redeemer, to bear into battle against the legions of the Undead and that she would prevail as the Forces of Light do ever prevail against the minions of Darkness."

"Then did the Archangel Sammael come to her and say that it was his wish that she be granted the power of life over death that she should raise from the dead those of her brave companions who will fall at the bloody hands of the living dead and that she would proof against their vile attacks".

"We were amazed by her visions and thanked the Powers of Light for them, but, as the Elohim teach us wisdom above all things, we were diligent in ensuring that they be true visions and after a thorough and complete investigation, the Inquisition have determined Dame Silken's claims to be worthy of our support."

"We hereby confer upon Dame Silken of Bergelfen the title of 'Lady of the Dark Circle', to be styled 'Lady Dark', and charge all of our brethren to make her welcome in every church and chapter house within the Western lands, so that she may never want for food, shelter, or guidance."

"We are placing into her keeping the blessed standard of Saint Jeremiah so that she may bear it proudly aloft as she leads the fight against the forces of unlife in the Dark Circle, and we have called upon Lord Blitzkrieg to guide her, and to protect her within the accursed lands".

"And even as we have sworn to support Lady Dark, she too has sworn a great oath, of chastity, modesty and obedience until the Circle of Darkness is cast down and banished forever."

"These are times of darkness, but in such times we turn ever more to the light, and look to the heroes that arise amongst us. Lady Dark is such a hero, and I charge all present to support her cause to bring the light of the Elohim into the places of evil and to cleanse them and leave them pure"

"I make these declarations by my authority as Thomas Xerxes, Bishop of Mordeaux and by acclamation of the Grand Conclave, Archbishop of the Unified Western Church."

May the Elohim keep Lady Dark, Lord Blitzkrieg and their brave companions safe as they journey into the accursed lands within the Circle of Darkness".

"Walk in Light".
