			We continued our march, maintaining the ordered circumnavigation of the island as previously commanded. After several days we encountered another small village upon the coast. The Kappa possessed little discipline or knowledge of the greater threats facing the island. Their reports were confused and of limited military value.

			Approximately one week into the march we had nearly completed the full circuit of the island. However, a wide swamp blocked the coastal path, its waters deep and the ground treacherous. Judging the terrain unsuitable for orderly movement, we turned inland. After some hours of marching through difficult ground we returned to the fortress.

			The remainder of the day was spent delivering our report to Grizelda and accounting for the events of the expedition. That evening, in recognition of the successful completion of our patrol, a celebration was permitted. Snowdrop prepared an impressive meal from our remaining stores, and spirits were high among the company. Even so, Commander Vath maintained proper discipline and reminded Koishi and Walks in Clouds of their assigned night watches.

			At first light the following morning we assembled and passed through the portal, returning to Seagate. From there we reported to the Guild to deliver our full account to Guild Security. The treasure recovered during the expedition was then formally catalogued and divided according to proper custom.
			The mission may therefore be recorded as successfully concluded.

			One level remained. Koshi forced open the final hatch. Beneath Snowdrop’s lantern light, four fearsome forms were revealed, half-submerged in dark water—rotting flesh, jagged claws, and rows of razor-sharp teeth. Briar and Walks in Clouds thinned their ranks with arrow fire before Terra, Koshi, and Snowdrop descended to finish the work in close quarters.

			With the undead destroyed, we searched the wreck and uncovered a modest bounty, including several items of magical significance.
