God of the Sun, Ra is the Sun

Theology and Mythology:

Ra was the first god, born of the cosmic egg from chaos and is the most ancient of all the gods. The light of Ra brought about life on Alusia including the younger gods. During the night Ra travels through the underworld guided by Osiris, lord of the dead, and arising at the next dawn.

Rites of Naming

A creatures name defines what they will become, rather than describing what the Individual already is. For instance Rashak being named "the destroyer" has caused her to become "the destroyer", if she was named "the meek" there would be far fewer problems with her. Creatures are named at birth and can be occasionally renamed, a entity without a name is not fully formed in the world.

Marriage

No religious rituals are associated with marriage, this is a contract between a man and his wife with a celebration involving friends and family.

Rites of the Dead

When dead the KAH (Body) is preserved, preferably as mummies and equiped as this is the image reflected in the underworld of the KAY(appetites and attractions) and BAH (affinities) and the better equipped the easier the travel through the paths of the dead to the halls of judgement. When the body is destroyed a statue or figure dedicated to the individual can be buried instead rather than have the KAY and BAH be formless in the underworld.

Occasionally the the KAY and BAH reinhabit the KAH, returning to the land of the living as they travel the paths of the dead. Generally the eye of Ra is drawn upon the burial site, through which the dead can view the living world to bring them solace if their KAY and BAH returns.

Many KAY and BAH are reborn in new KAH when they loose their way on the path and must go through life again. Those who pass judgement in the halls of the dead become stars in the heavens. Anubis, lord of the dead protects and guides the dead to the underworld.

Judgement

Judgement is based upon the total amount of good vs evil performed by the entity over its past lives, the more good the more likely that they will pass judgement. There is no concept of redemption bringing salvation or a small evil act bringing damnation, the sum of the evil and good acts actually done during your life are what counts.

Worship

Ra is generally prayed to at dawn. High holidays are on midday on spring and autumn equnox, Dawn on the summer solstice and Sunset on the winter solstice. Worshipers are expected to be clean and presentable as they worship as Ra is looking upon them. Priests are also required to be pure, ie having abstained from intimate activity for the previous three days.
