The Lost Loot Files

From DQWiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

Over the years I have taken a number of items off characters through death, item use, trades and the occasional misfortune on the part of the character. I have also included a good number of items my characters have lost over the years.

I present them below. I have excluded standard investeds and items for specific characters.
Spelling and Grammer errors have been corrected, although I may have added others by accident.

Charged Items

Potion of Hallucination

This potion contains LSD. It is a strong hallucinogen which will cause strange visual, audial and thought patterns in an individual, even to the point of bodily harm or social disgrace. It begins to work 2D100 minutes after ingestion and lasts for 6D6 hours. A charactermust make a 1x WP check to do any specific action in a pulse, especially in combat.

Potion of Teleportation

Once this potion is imbibed the drinker may either think of a location he knows within 50 miles which must be above ground and unenclosed, or the drinker may instead pick a direction and a distance and in either case they will be teleportedwithout possibility of error to where they have chosen. If the direction, distance option is used and the location does not meet the above ground unenclosed criteria, then the drinker will go to the nearest spot that will meet the criteria.

Blessing of a Dragon

<Insert Character Name> is owed a favour by a Silver Dragon that may assist the character once at any time.
The Dragon will carry a party to a location close to the guild.
In order to request other services from the dragon the player must contact Mandos by phone and get the GM to confirm the details. If Mandos is not contactable the Dragon will not arrive.

Grenadoes of the Holy Vehm

These grenadoes may be thrown with the standard grenado skill. However, these grenadoes are not normally aimed at a target, but at a hex. When they are thrown at a hex, no Strike Check is made. Instead all those within 10ft must roll under 25% or suffer a Spec-Grev injury. All those further than 10ft but within 15ft must roll under 50% or suffer a Spec-Grev injury, and those further than 15ft but within 25ft must roll under 75% or suffer a Spec-Grev injury.
If the grenado is detonated inside, and assuming 10x10 corridors, then the area of effect will be about 50ft long in both directions (about 100ft of corridor). All those within the area of effect must roll under twice their range from the point of detonation in feet or suffer a Spec-Grev injury.
Enchantments have no affect on the chances given above, and any Spec-Grev result is applied, potentially reducing armour. Corners provide a 20pt bonus to avoid injury.

Complex Items

Chest of Holding

This chest appears to be approximately 1 foot square. It looks like a perfect pirates chest that you see in the comics. It has just enough rust, just the right weather-beaten look and a perfect looking padlock on the front. It is in fact an illusion of a chest over a knapsack. It DA's as Magical (as all good illusions should). Anyone attempting to open the chest who has not disbelieved and seen through the illusion will not open the knapsack correctly and will receive a violent electric shock doing d20 damage and throwing them to the ground/away from the chest. The knapsack looks like one of those WWII gas mask holders and is hence worn over one shoulder. The knapsack has a 15cm square opening, which provides a limit to what can be put inside. If the item is small enough it can be placed inside the knapsack. An unlimited number of small items can be placed inside. Despite the number of items in the knapsack it weighs 1 pound. The knapsack resists the following spells: All protection spells (fire: magical and normal, cold etc). All invisibility type spells., A PC could go around Walking Unseen or equivalent but there would be a chest visible in midair. Any other spell the GM thinks of given the above guide. (Ie any spell that could conceivably protect, disguise, hide the chest)

In addition the GM should be aware that the knapsack is made of a fragile material and there is an excellent chance that if worn in combat or any other tricky sort of situation then the knapsack is likely to get ripped. If it does get torn at all then it disappears and all items in it fall to the ground. (Some might even get broken...). The knapsack is not waterproof. It takes exactly five pulses of searching before the item desired can be found in the knapsack (includes opening and closing time), regardless of the number of items in the knapsack. The knapsack looks suitably brownish but still glows in the dark equivalent to the glow of a candle.

There is a 1% chance (Ie on a roll of 00) that any item searched for in the knapsack has disappeared completely. Forever. Roll for each item to be removed. Only 1 item can be removed at a time.

Helm

Unornamented but brilliantly polished skull-cap helmet that may not be removed without a successful Remove [lesser] Curse Ritual:MA=24.(Or death, of course).
ALL magic (talent-like, spell-like, or ritual-like, or from items), which effectively touches the wearer is rebounded onto its origin on a totally unmodified roll of 01-05. This includes otherwise irresistible magic (e.g, Death Curse), Telepathy, even magic that the wearer wants.
This item can produce extremely unusual results, especially against items & intrinsic magic of "Nature". Note that magic from items always rebounds with B.D.E.(Best Dramatic Effect) but primarily the magical outcome rebounds on that item rather than its wielder

Seeing Stone of the Astrologer-Royal

This oblate sphere of transparent crystal (6" diameter, 3" thick) may be held in front of one's eye to see, as through a glass, darkly, giving (2xPC)% chance of noticing something [especially a small detail] which is significantly more important than it otherwise appears to be.
Furthermore, upto once a week, the orb will accurately show a predictive vision that the GM knows to be very important. The vision is naturalistic and static, but only lasts 5 seconds.
