Vanara

Nishadha

The first Kingdom of the Consociation, and home to the Elvish Maryn Queens, as well as the Vanara.

Savira

Capital of Nishadha, and of the Consociation. In later years, it was famous amongst mortals for its architecture, with soaring white towers and lush gardens, although it never achieved the elegance or beauty of any purely elven city.

Panchala North

Panchala was a kingdom of extremes. In the north were high mountains covered with snow and regularly lashed with high winds, where none but the Bharia choose to live.

Panchala South

To the south, the feckless and flea-ridden Gnoll lay in the hot suns of the plains, while the city of Kampilya was a contrasting centre of grace and activity in the otherwise bucolic province.

Kampilya

The city of Kampilya in southern Panchala was the Northern Provincial Capital, and the second city of the Consociation. An active elvish and human presence, plus centralised army administrators, assisted the local populace to maintain law and order.

Vidarbha

The Dawon kingdom of Vidarbha was a land of high mountain passes and secret river valleys, but was far enough south that snow almost never fell, even on the peaks. Vidarbha existed almost solely to guard against the Dandaka Vanara, the Telinga Orcs, and the Kalinga rebels, being too dangerous a force for any of them to leave on a flank if they attacked the Consociation. The Dawon and other races stationed in Vidarbha were very loyal and fierce in their protection of the southern frontiers.

Bhojakata

The heavily fortified city of Bhojakata was the Southern Provincial Capital, and was primarily an army city. The civilian population was primarily families of serving or retired soldiers, farmers brought in to feed the, or artisans who serviced the army’s need. For most people Bhojakata was a posting, rather than a home, although some breeds of Dawon and Rabari settled there in the later years of the Consociation.

Magadha

The main kingdom of Sora, and considered twice as pleasant a place to stay as Anarta. The Sarayu river ran blue as it entered Magadha, and slowly trickled out of it, brown and lumpy; most other visitors felt the same way.

Girivraja

The city of Girivraja (or Giri) was the Eastern Provincial Capital, at least in name. In practise, the low mud-plastered buildings could rarely been seen above the piles of refuse and rotting debris littering the streets, and the city was used as a holding pen for the incompetents and malcontents that would otherwise accumulate throughout the bureaucracy.

Kalinga

This independent coastal kingdom of Orcs was perhaps the last to be conquered, famously overcome by Queen Aistaraina after such appalling carnage that Aistaraina turned aside from violence for the rest of her life. Despite Aistaraina’s charitable treatment of Kalinga, various revolutionary plots and petty rebellions fomented over the years. Many of them were led by Brihadhra, the malcontent elvish queen of Kalinga, who maintained a strong relationship with the local orcish population. Brihadhra was a lonely and bitter ruler, as most of her family chose to dwell in the relative glories of Savira, rather than the rustic south. Under her administration, Kalinga’s population regularly over-bred its agricultural base and overflowed into neighbouring provinces, creating war and famine in the region

Avanti

The kingdom of Vanara was always full of excitement and noise. Even the small villages seemed to be celebrating every day. Avanti was one of the most advanced and magical kingdoms of the Consociation, and famed for the warriors it produced, such as Hanuman.

Ujjayani

The city of Ujjayani was the Western Provincial Capital. This bustling and vivacious city was famed for its innovation, whether of dance, argumentation, martial styles, or foment. If it wasn’t happening in Ujjayani, it simply wasn’t happening.

Gurjara

At the edge of civilisations lies Gurjara, run by a particularly independent breed of Rabari, who preferred the freedom of subsistence agriculture and the glory of the hunt to accepting the yoke of civilisation, the need to wear clothes and acknowledging their superiors, at least during the good years. In years of drought, famine, flood, disease, or war, the Gurjara were as loyal as any other state.

Sauvira

The original home of the Saurime lay to the west of the Saraswati river, and formed a natural boundary with the Drow, as neither side really wanted to rule this swampy plain and its flanking rivers deltas.

Sindhu

The Far-Western Dawon kingdom of Sindhu was essential to the security of the border, as the Drow and their orcish minions lurked in the mountains overlooking this fortified outpost, which was guarded by the elite of the Dawon forces, who prowled the mountain trails at night, intent on luring the dark forces to their death. Immigrants and traders generally preferred to attempt the swamps of Sauvira, rather than the open plains of Sindhu.

Sivi

Although this mountainous Dwarvish kingdom was happy to be traded from the Drow satrapies to the Consociation, they generally choose to be independent allies, rather than acknowledge Elvish supremacy. Given their position on the extremity of the empire, the Marya choose to allow them this freedom. On the surface, Gnolls roamed.

Anarta

Home to the Sora, this tiny stinking kingdom of swamp and desolate moors on a dead-end peninsula was accidentally claimed by the Consociation as part of a peace settlement with the Drow.

Dwaraka

Beyond even Anarta lay the islands and coastline of Dwaraka, filled with Mog, salt, fish, and sandbanks, all equally deadly and stupid.
