Session 1

Mission

In which we learn of our quest, gather supplies and fight the shambling hordes.

It was a fine day when Mungo gathered us for a mission to escort two relatives in Ivinia. Mungo admitted that he was estranged from his family and didn't really know why he had been tagged for this by his family. Possibly they were among those who had heard of his great deeds.

Deciding we would need some supplies to go traipsing about the frozen north in winter, we went about getting them. Viola mentioned that restoratives are expensive up north so we headed off to Slippery Rock to get as many as we could get our hands on.

Slippery Rock

Slippery Rock area

The lovely people of Slippery Rock were pleased to see us, pleased to give us a pile of Restoratives and would be delighted if we dealt with a minor undead problem, no trouble really but could we see to it. Ragna muttered something about going off task but the rest of us were keen. We readied ourselves and headed off to see about the undead.

Undead at Blight ruin

The undead were milling about aimlessly in a nearby village. Typical. Being an undead horde is so last decade. The witches had erected wards to contain them and incidentally any other unnatural aberrations that might be hanging around. That gave us some pause as some members of our band self identified as things like werewolf. Life choices and all that. After ensuring everyone was suitably normal we charged in. There was much enthusiastic slaughtering of undead until the flesh golem constructs turned up. There was a bit more running and screaming and then the death birds gathered. People were getting hurt, our leader was panicked, Anooke was overwhelmed and Mordrin had a hair out of place. So Viola summoned a manifestation of Yggdrasil. While effective, there is such a thing as showing off. Over the next hour Yggdrasil grew, bloomed, shed leaves and then withered and departed. It also annihilated any undead, unholy beasts or people identifying as necromancers in the area.

Festival

We returned to Slippery Rock a little weirded out and stayed for a extra day for the festival. They also pressed on us a list of bits and bobs they would like from the chilly north should we come across them.

Chelemby

Two days later we returned to Seagate and travelled by magic portal to Chelemby. Chelemby is a lovely if bloody cold place. Advice for Seagate tourists is to check the tide times as the portal can be awash at high tide. We dragged ourselves to dryer land and huddled near a fire.
