The current difference between the Fairy Folk and Fae categories is one has elves, and the other has Fantastical Monsters (!) and Fey folk and fairies of Ildrisholm. Looks to me like they can be combined, and for those keen on 'sundering' the elves from the rest of the faerie, lets resolve it rather than having parallel categories - Elves could have their own category (with Drow, Erelheine, Teleri, etc) if its agreed - solves issues like the 'speak to enchanted creatures' spell for elves.

Not wanting to be anti-categorical, perhaps not-quite-mutually-exclusive categories of Seelie and Unseelie could be used to group the fae? Some can be both, but I've never heard of Seelie Nixies or Fossegrim, for instance. This also gives a place to look at the 'bad' or 'good' faeries in a hurry. Andreww 17:17, 24 Oct 2007 (NZDT)

Actually I think you mean benevolent or malevolent to be more accurate. But yes, I agree with you that an 'Unseelie' or 'Seelie' category could be used as they were generally grouped by species. That doesn't mean that there aren't GM exceptions.

As for 'sundering' off the elves, yes. go for it. Incidently, how many sub-species of elves are there? --Keith 18:18, 24 Oct 2007 (NZDT)
