WordSmith has learnt some interesting or unusual GTNs

Unteachable

Blood

Learnt from the Princess of Blood on Phantasia. It only applies when blood is present, but not the entity. It will not remove the "GTN-unknown"penalty of an entity with blood if targeting the creature. Blood is formerly living, and contains very little information about its previous host.

Curse

Learnt as the result of a critical success while performing a customised impromptu ritual on Phantasia, where the Princesses had Curse as a talent.

  • This gives him a bonus of +1% / Rank, or the normal GTN bonus for his target (whichever is better) to casting
    • Remove curse
    • any curse spells he may know
    • counterspells on curses like Damnum Minatum
  • It also increases his effective MA for Remove Curse by +1 / Rank. This will allow him to remove high MA major curses, and gain an extra bonus to BC (major curse only).

Hellfire

Learnt after having battled and DAed an elemental form of Hellfire.

  • gets the 'normal' GTN bonus when casting at Hellfire (e.g. for ward dissipation)
  • gains +3% MR / Rank against Hellfire
  • Anyone else protected from Hellfire by the appropriate counterspell (cast on them by WordSmith) will gain +3% MR / Rank against Hellfire
  • may automatically recognise the College (if any) of a Hellfire spell effect, or from any stored magic that he has identified as Hellfire
    • e.g. when DAing a ward, "spell stored" will return "Hellfire - Witchcraft").

Teachable

Gold

The only known Gold that actually has this GTN on Alusia is the centrepiece of The Golden Ingot. Hence this isn't useful in itself, except for bragging rights...
Dwarves can probably get WordSmith to teach them this, providing enough whiskey is provided as lubrication - remember that WS gets his whiskey at wholesale...
