History

The Weisbaum Valley was founded when the Western Marches were settled by the Aquilans in around 150WK. At this stage, it was a swampy bowl similar to the Southern Fens. A concerted draining programme soon rendered the area habitable. The lines of hills separating the valley from Kheer Tal and the reputation of the swamp kept the area safe from the Vlach clans. Once the settler were established, they started trading with the Vlach and other tribes, and were rarely raided. They maintained their teutonic traditions even when the Bowcourt settlers occupied Aveice almost three hundred years later. A number of inconclusive skirmishes led to a peaceful, but forced, integration with Aveice, which later became the Duchy Volar. There have been several wars with the Black Forest orcs, most recently when Cain led an invasion of Weisbaum and Aveice in Summer 801.
