Umshatar is a landlocked province in the southeast of the Island. The province is bordered to the north and west by Dajak, to the south by Mercato and to the east by Tanah Boemboe. Mountain ranges on the northern and eastern borders are rich in natural minerals and ores.
The land is lush and mostly thick jungle. The predominant industry is mining and smelting of ore and the town of Amoentai is famous for its huge water powered smelters. The southern lands are rich and fertile jungle and the battle to keep lands under cultivation is constant. A small but significant lumber industry assists with this.
