Talk:Winter War

Greg, Andrew and I were wondering if both (or even either) QM slots were required for the Winter War. We are both interested in leading some forces (or rather a town in WS's case). Even if our current logistical arrangements need reworking, doing so shouldn't be too onerous now we have the groundwork and number-crunching methods sorted. --Errol 12:51, 3 May 2007 (NZST)

Signing Up

In case you missed it, this is not a normal game. This is about running a war in dq(-ish).

Most of the game play is electronic with occasional in-person meetings. Moving forces/supplies around takes a lot longer than we initially guessed, your character will be occupied for the entire session or possibly longer.

Because of this most of the existing Generals are staying on to try to finish what we started, but we'll make room for anyone who particularly wants to join in. Overall, it takes up less of your time as a player than a standard game, and is easier to fit around day-to-day life as well. If you are keen, probably best to contact Greg or speak to one of the existing players.

- Stephen.

Email only

Greg, would it be possible for me to play this on Email only? I'd only play in person on nights when I'm free to do so ;) Chris 2 June 2007

Hello All, Greg here. As Stephen has noted, we soon discovered that it takes a long game time to move men and equipment any particular distances. As such I thought it might work better if we played the session as a combined winter to spring session but started around August real time.

Errol, after such a masterful establishment by Wordsmith and Faith, you could probably delegate the quartermastering to minions and advance yourself into the realm of either province economics and or garrisoning and or leading yourself. Axis 15:17, 2 Jun 2007 (NZST)

Hi all,

I wouldn't mind getting Saydar in on this game. I was hoping to get Rk 10 Mil Sci from the Assault on Masada, but we killed everything too quickly to really get a good battle. Saydar would be a good front-line commander.

Andrew, I think that the delay in response is because some players are deciding whether to sign-up again - see Stephen's comments above. I suggest you talk to Greg or some of the players in To Ruska with Love, and then put your name on the main page. Andreww 16:37, 7 Jun 2007 (NZST)

I've added someone to the list, not entirely sure who which may be a problem - The troops having no idea who their commander is. I'm sure the Field Marshall will be able to sort it out one way or another. -- Stephen 17:21, 7 Jun 2007 (NZST)

Just confirming that Sabrina will definitely not be back for next season. This means there is definitely one spot open. --Dean Ellis 01:35, 8 Jun 2007 (NZST)
