Talents

Interpret Runes and Symbols (T-1)

Spirit Vision (T-2)

Canabilisation (T-3) JB

Special Aspects (T-4) JB

Notes: This is to mechanical at the moment. It needs to be watered down to something that is fast to use in the game/story and is not a large effect, and will empower players, not limit them as it does at the moment. JB

"The session aspect of violence. Once a session the wearer is able affect a melee blow as follows" is this right or should the first session (highlighted) read season(al)? Michael 05:56, 5 Dec 2008 (NZDT)

Spirit Armour (T-5) JJM

General Knowledge Spells

Rune of Black Mind (G-1)

Why would anyone want/rank this spell when strength of stone investeds are so affordable and every other party has an Earth mage if not two? I would have it stack with StoSt for half effect. Michael 06:06, 5 Dec 2008 (NZDT)

Rune of Control Entity (G-2)

Rune of Fortitude (G-3)

-- The idea of a rune helping resist fear is fine. It seems wrong that a Rk 0 Rune of Fortitude can make a 1xWP turn into a 2xWP check. The nastiest affect of Blackfire is the Fear and this cheapens it a bit too much for a general. I prefer a simpler approach like Adds 1% per rank to the chance of resisting a fear roll and provides -1/Rank from any roll on the fear table. -- ALR

Rune of Haste (G-4)

Think the duration is to short given that you cant cast it in combat or on multiple targets 5-6 minutes to do a party then it lasts 25 mins for +5 TMR at rk 20 oops I mean 18 to 19mins for the first in line. Suggest pulse cast or hour + hour/rank duration. Michael 06:16, 5 Dec 2008 (NZDT)

Rune of Healing (G-5)

Should allow the Rune mage to preserve dead. Can't see any reason why it shouldn't do that. Better to be able to rez a character than kill them permanently --ALR

Rune of the Hunt (G-6)

--I like the effect, but this is sooo *not* a general knowledge spell. Try quest only SK :) The EN costs are way too low for losing limbs (and only 4 EN for a missing heart?). Why are the EN costs there at all? Surely GM call if it is ever relevant would be sufficient. --ALR.

Rune of Protection (G-7)

I assume this stacks with other defence spells? Including those with damage reduction. Michael 06:23, 5 Dec 2008 (NZDT)

Rune of Smite (G-8)

"Once a successful strike has been made the spell ceases to be in effect" this means lands a blow that the target fails to resist right? not just the first sucessful hit. And it is a pulse cast, not something I have to spend a minute reapplying every 3.5 hours at max rank? Right? Michael 06:30, 5 Dec 2008 (NZDT)

General Knowledge Rituals

Fashioning Runestaff (Q-1)

Does weaponsmithing make a difference? And if you use this as your weapon does it gain bonuses when combined wtih your smite or runeweapon spells? Michael 06:33, 5 Dec 2008 (NZDT)

Runes of Sight (Q-2)

Sending (Q-3)

Dream Sending (Q-4) -JJM

Warding with Runes (Q-5)

Special Knowledge Spells

"Aiming at all Rune Based spells taking 1 min to make" does this apply to the SK section as well?

Runewall (S-1)

Creating Runeshield (S-2)

Rune of Truth (S-3)

Banishment (S-4)

Torment (S-5)

"Each pulse that the Adept continues to point the Runestaff at the entity (requiring a pass action) it suffers [Rank / 4] points of damage and may not attempt to recover from the spell"

So when quickened and with 26 + AG a mage uses a pass action to point and then can use their other pass action and 2 normal actions to do something else without breaking the effect from pulse to pusle? Michael 06:58, 5 Dec 2008 (NZDT)

Creating Runeweapon (S-6)

So this stacks with weapon spells?

And for the create weapon I would sugest a modifier like "every two ranks in the spell the weapon created is considered to have the equivelent of one rank of weaponsmithing" so sp rank 10 = ws 5 and gives +1 damage + 1SC or +5 SC on top of normal stats.

Also what about bows, nets, cestus? Michael 05:48, 5 Dec 2008 (NZDT)

Dead Mans Breath (S-7) JB

Visitation (S-8)

Rune Curse (S-9)

Control Corpse (S-10)

Converse with Spirits (S-11)

Trapping Spirit (S-12)

Rune of Elements (S-13)

Warning Stones (S-14)

Summon Totem Helper (S-15)

Sacrifice (S-16)

This will cause only superficial physical changes such as shout nose, hooved fear" Huh? Michael 07:19, 5 Dec 2008 (NZDT)

Special Knowledge Rituals

Casting the Runes (R-1)

Could you tatoo the runes on your victim claiming they were benifical? Michael 07:24, 5 Dec 2008 (NZDT)

Creeping Doom (R-2)

Rune Portal (R-3)

I take it once the perminent portal is set up, anyone can use it when they want to. What sort of cost are you thinking of in order to set up a pair? And when it says 'to any other perminent portal visited', that implies that there can be a 'many to many' relationship and will requite some sort of 'destination selection' in the activation procedure.

Binding (R-4)

Binding Spirits (R-5)

Ritual of Transformation (R-6)

Rune Healing (R-8)

General Commentary

Where did the 3 new talents come from? Surely the Rune college is based more around rituals than talents. ChrisC 5th Dec 2008

Who are you?

Can people when commenting put their name to the comments please
Who are:

  1. JB - Jono Bean
  2. JJM - Jon McSpadden
  3. ALR - Alistair Ramsden

I have added in names against the above initials. I am farily sure I am right, but happy to be corrected. I think the Initials beside the Talent/Spell/Ritual is not so much a comment as a log of who invented/created what in the college. --Dean Ellis 09:16, 5 Dec 2008 (NZDT)
