E&E Proposal

Has there been a general discussion about this that I am unaware of? What are the perceived issues that need addressing? --Errol 03:55, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

Have you ever tried DMing a combat where some people are quickened, some people are not, others are slowed, and the rest only have Pass Actions?
It is an exercise that I have never found to be anything other than entirely fun-free, and it seems that I am not the only one.--Jim


Perceived Issues: Quickness/Slowness/Agony slow games down and the introduce a level of unwelcome complexity that has a large negative impact on game play & enjoyment. The other issue is that E&E has no half effect spells within their special knowledge, and this in effect limits players choice.
Attempted Answer: Retain uniqueness that Quickness once held in the game, by providing E&E with a new Talent of Prepared Cast Action. Generals: Make G3 Enchanted Sleep spell less of a save or die spell. Make Evil Eye worth something more than nothing. Specials: Change S2 Bolt of Energy to be half effect, multi-targets at higher ranks. Change S11 and S12 Slowness and Quickness to remove effects on actions other than 'none-magical pass actions' and make them impact in the area of TMR and IV instead of actions. The 'none-magical pass actions' may need to be removed by more play test should determine this.

  • Thanks, useful to know what you are aiming at. You might want to separate the two issues when we get further along, one basically only affects E&Es, the other will have a significant effect on many (most?) combats. --Errol 21:24, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
