Robe Embroidery

Special stitches may be embroidered into robes to provide special bonuses like increasing spell damage, Preparing spells, spell penetration, countering penalties to casting, and banding spell damage.

The embroidery gives bonuses based on Skill in Artisan: Tailoring). The stitches are embroidered into a robe and can be Triggered by the wearer, who does not have to be a Tailor, you don't have to have the skill yourself.

When you use the stitch, it unravels and reduces your Rank in Tailor until the stitch is used.

The embroideries must be visible although not necessarily detectable (e.g. when Blended or sneaking). Even getting them dirty stops them from working until you have given the robe a good wash. Covering them with anything also stops them from working. They are obvious, although it is not necessarily obvious what they do.

You cannot wear armour over embroidered robes, although if the armour is leather, you can wear them underneath. However, you have to subtract the Rank of the stitch any Damage Reduction or EN armour of all of the stitches currently in effect. And, wearing embroidered robes over armour makes you look magically silly, and the wearer will not be treated with respect by anyone that they interact with.
