Pact between Diancecht and Phaeton

Phaeton has entered into the First Pact with Diancecht.

This gives Phaeton some special advantages, some disadvantages, and some restrictions and requirements, as described below.

Advantages/Disadvantages

Extended Lifespan: Phaeton will live for twice as long as is normal for a human.

More robust metabolism: Phaeton is immune to non-magical disease and infection.

Learn Solar Celestial Healing: Diancecht will teach this to Phaeton. This will take Phaeton three weeks full time (half the time spent learning the spell, the other half spent in service to local healers) and cost him 2,000sp.

Phaeton may teach this spell to other Solar Celestial Mages, provided he tithes half (50%) of the gross money he receives for the lesson. Diancecht reserves the right to veto this, if Phaeton is teaching the spell to someone Diancecht does not approve of.

Ranged Healing: Diancecht will lend Phaeton his power so that Phaeton can cast Healing (Solar Celestial Healing spell only) at range. The range for this is touch for ranks 0-10, then (15 + 15/rank over 10) feet for ranks 11-20. (cf Empathy).

Call Patron Proficiency

Restrictions/Requirements

Tithe: Phaeton is expected to spend 10% of his net income on healing the poor, medical research, etc.

Non-association - Other Powers: Phaeton must limit his association with other Powers, Gods, Demons etc. He should not accept any gifts from these. He must not enter into any agreements or bargains with these.

Pacifism - Phaeton must make a vow of pacifism. He must not kill.

Diancecht understands that Phaeton lives in a violent world. Phaeton has leave to hurt and immobilise people, especially in self-defense, but Phaeton should not actually kill anyone.

Proselytising: Phaeton must always speak well of Diancecht, extol his virtues, sell the advantages of pacting, etc, to everyone he meets. (This is the standard 'sell thy deity' clause).

Follow Teachings: Phaeton is expected to loosely follow the teachings and expected behaviour of Diancecht. (This is the standard 'follow thy deitys teachings' clause)

Most important is the creed that Phaeton must not, ever, under any circumstance, (including his own destruction) refuse healing to any entity.

Notes

Diancecht does not have many worshippers or agents in Seagate. Many worship him in the northern lands, so the further north Phaeton goes, the better reception he will get.
