This tower is located in the Kanst Pass and has grown into a larger complex over time but is still referred to as the Saddle Tower. It is now a 120ft square, 2 level stone building with a 30ft tall signal tower along the Western Wall with a signal beacon on top.

Details

40ft tall walls topped with occasional battlements. The walls lead to the roof of the complex which is steep sided (to reduce the snow burden) and covers the area except for the walls and a 5ft walkway around the edge and the signal tower. There are chimney stacks here to allow the smoke from fires to flow.

  • Ground Floor. Massive double doors lead into the complex. The interior of the ground floor is wide open except for the inner stairs going up to the living level (2nd floor) and there are two sloping holes going down to the cavern or storage level below. This are is primarily for the wagons, horses and cattle of trapped or stopping wagon trains to rest in, in case of storms etc. There is a large fireplace on both the northern and southern sides to provide warmth when needed.
  • 2nd Floor. This is the living level of the complex and has dormitory setups for up to 80 travelers as well as 6 separate guard bunk rooms for up to 40 guards. There are a number of fireplaces here to help heat the area.
  • Cavern or storage level. Below ground level is a large old cavern which is used to store goods, food, meat, spare wood, wagon parts, tack etc. The well for the tower is here and goes down 200ft where its full of pure, natural water.
