Glacius is a powerful artifact of the Lunar Empire. It is sometimes used in the Lunar Winter Games and may be used at other times if required for the defence of the empire.

Two handed named Magical sword. This icy sword radiates cold and is ice blue in hue. The hilt is encrusted with pale blue sapphires and Mithril filigree in the form of waves. The sword will do D+10 damage as "normal" damage. In addition a number of effects are apparent:

Users of sword must have protection from cold or risk taking cold damage (D per pulse). Touching the blade of the sword causes an immediate resistance check against ice spells. Resisters feel a bit cool. Resisters for whom cold or purity cause extra harm will take D+5 damage.

Failure to resist amongst human sized targets will cause the target to be frozen solid. Powerful magical beings or targets greater than human sized will take D+20 damage. Those targets for whom cold or purity cause extra harm will take D+40 damage.

Invoking its name in a powerful declaration whilst using the sword will deduct the users will power from the targets magic resistance. ("Hit him Glacius" doesn't cut it.) This must be done every time the sword is used for it to be effective. (i.e. the character cannot just say something cool once and it works for the rest of the combat.)

If dipped in water the water will freeze instantly in a radius of six feet. The sword must be kept in a cool place (Below zero preferably) or it will start to suck the heat out of its surroundings. Any entity within a mega hex of the sword will need to resist or have their body temp lowered by 1 degree per pulse until they leave the area. Entities must re-resist every pulse they are in range.

As a powerful magic games item, the games organizers require its staying within the Lunar Empire.

This item was kept by the Lunar Empire for use in the next Lunar Winter Games.
